Tucker Carlson Obsession Thread (merged)

It’s weird that this guy is the face of the right wing. Every time I watch one of these videos he’s whining about something.

He does some segments where he doesn’t whine, right?
Possibly, but he will never do an interview where he doesn't look confused.

It's not news, its newstainment.
Carlson, Hannity, Lemon, Maddow, Cuomo . . . The whole genre just bores me. Obviously they get ratings, but why do I need to spend an hour listening to push journalism from somebody whose angle is predictable to the point that I already know what they're going to say?

I haven’t watched one hour of news or such in months. Tired of listening and seeing them

No lie. If I want to hear a slanted rant . . . I'll call my Dad lol. The only reason I ever watch is if they have a particular guest I'm interested in.

I haven't watched one second of what I call "talking head" news in a loooong time. I think W was in office. I feel much better off for it.

This..... someone once told me I was part of the problem for not watching the news. I would suggest they were part of the problem for sucking in such divisive drivel regardless of which channel they were currently watching.

I watch Kennedy some - at least it's got some humor in it.

Putting personal politics aside I'm not sure anyone could look at our recent political situation with anything but this expression.

True but the difference is in his case it's feigned. His whole shtick is pseudo intellectual false equivalence. He mixes in the occasional weak straw man too.

Only those predisposed to like what he says, or who lack reasoning skills (I'd point out that the two overlap quite a bit) think his show has any value whatsoever.

sounds like a perfect description of Rachel Maddow - they are mirror images
