I feel a little vendicated after reading this...............

I wanted Gill at UT for a loooong time. Kiffin will be great at UT, but Gill would have been smart in many areas. He will have a hard time at Auburn (if hired) due to the hands on approch boosters have and Nick Saten. Gill is a great coach and will be for a long time. For the sake of UT...I hope he goes to Syracuse.

The Orange and the Bulldogs seemed to peak in 1998 to me.

With the right coach and a few good recruiting classes The Orange could easliy be at the top of the Big East in a few years.

I'm talking to the recruiting trends and the difficulty in getting the team speed to be a national contender to come to a place like Syracuse. I just don't see any of those programs, save those with enormous national reputations, coming back to prominence.

ESPN - Auburn Tigers coaching search starting to take shape

Last I heard was Jimbo was wanted bad, but that's not working out. Gill is very high and maybe working it out has I type, but other names have shown interest and Auburn may wait to pull the trigger or change directions altogether.

Jimbo was on staff at Auburn when Terry Bowden was there, so he has ties to the school. By the way,,, check out FSU's recruiting class and be prepared to see the green monster. That's two classes in a row he is top ten.
The man can recruit. His quarterbacks are awful,, kind a like ours.
