And the amazing Linda Ronstadt.
I don’t think that she ever made a musical step wrong. Not in my book, anyway. She has (had) the pipes.
I saw her live in Knoxville with Sam and Dave as the warmups. One of the best concerts ever.

Have you been to the Stax Records Museum? It’s worth a trip to Memphis, even to do nothing else at all. Well, maybe see the Peabody ducks. But just an amazing and educational/ enlightening exhibit, for all y’all who’ve never been to Memphis.Sam & Dave! Stax.
I saw her and Aaron Neville in concert together, it was great.
I had a big crush on her in the 70s.

Just that room with Mavis Staples and the Staple Singers, belting out “Respect Yourself.” Holy cow.
The home of Southern Soul, y’all!
1957-1968 - Stax Museum
I still love that Bob Dylan wanted to marry Mavis, and she turned him down.
