Has anyone watched The Wheel of Time? (Amazon; began last November)
My son-in-law has all 14 (!) books in the series, and I’ve slogged my way through about half of them. They’re as overwhelming in terms of five quintillion+ characters and innumerable plot lines as the GoT books, and frankly, I wouldn’t mind cheating with a TV version, if it were any good.
Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. Ok, preparing to slog on.I read all 14 books a couple of years ago and I know what you mean. I enjoyed the books.
The TV series was pretty bad if you have read the books. The casting was just awful and they changed the main story line of the main characters from the gitgo. I watched the first season, but may not watch the second if there is one.
Considering the pause between book 5 and 6/7, I think you are right. I wonder if his ending will depart greatly from the movie?Or, prosaically, because everyone, actors, writers, and staff, had signed contracts for the next year and needed to move on. The fans are way more invested in more more more than those in the actual production.
Uhtred is one of my all time favorite characters.@Orangeslice13
I just finished the first episode of The Last Kingdom. That first battle was heartbreaking. Clever strategy for the Danes, the Saxon fell right in.
I'm interested enough to watch the second. Not a fan of Brida yet, but hoping that changes. Hope I don't have to wait long for Sven to get what's coming to him. Lol. Already hate that Martha flocker.
Besides Uhtred, there's no one that I can say is a favorite yet. The ones I woulda picked are already dead. Lol.
