Kiffin 2-year resume at Alabama:

2 - SEC Championships
2 - NC playoffs
1 - National Championship

If you tell me you are going to hold your breath, waiting for that, I'm calling 911.

Bama could of not even had an OC on staff and still have those creds, let's be real now. lol

I think the guy is a tool. But he's paid to coach offense, and he's doing his job pretty well.

That's pretty much it. You just better pray to Bear Bryant that Kiffin has moved on by the time Saban retires so that somebody isn't tempted to hand the program over to him so he can burn it down.

Yet an idiot like Muschump got the best SEC HC that came open after a lousy 1 year showing as a DC at Auburn

I don't know if you live in gamecock country or not but I always find it amusing when they say their team is gonna be extremely disciplined and play fundamentally sound. It's like they don't remember his temper tantrums at all or the fact his teams were ESPN more than once for blocking themselves.

I wouldn't have a problem with that 😁

The money folks in Tuscaloosa are already prepped to go after Dabo once Saban steps down.

That's what I figured would happen. Since this is a Kiffin thread, I don't really care about him anymore, but he can go **** himself
for good measure.

I'm sure Layla is taking Kiff to the cleaners-- x 4. He'll be subsidizing her LA lifestyle until he retires. Who knows? Maybe all three kids will decide to go to SC, and he'll have to pay a cool mil in tuition to the school that crushed his dreams in the parking lot.

I wish someone would crush my dreams by paying me millions of dollars to work for someone else.

Somebody please set that goof's hair on fire, that's all I've been asking for years. Is it so hard to set his hair on fire? And please do it during the biggest televised game possible. Thanks.

It would obviously depend on his contract, but typically if you are fired and rehired to a similar position it voids your previous contract.

So it's possible that they aren't paying him.

bamawriter will be back in a few moments to help explain how wrong that assumption would be.

Hmmm, maybe its time to ban them. I mean this is a Tennessee Vols board. Just an observation....

It's the NCAA Forum. It would be boring with only a Tennessee perspective, imo. Besides, many of these guys have been around through the worst stretch of Tennessee football in my lifetime. I"m certainly not going to get rid of them right before we're about to start kicking their tails on a regular basis. :)

Nope. Not even remotely accurate.

Kiffin's buyout from USC (and basically every coach's buyout in the country) contains offset language. Essentially, if he takes a new job, his yearly buyout from USC is reduced by the amount of his new salary. So, if USC owes him 3.5 mill, and Bama pays him 500k, then USC's yearly payout is reduced to 3 mill.

In terms of what Bama pays him, Kiffin isn't even in the top half of the SEC OCs. But there is no reason to pay him more, because all that does is reduce his buyout amount. He takes home 3+ million either way.

He made $3.4M-- $2.7M from SC and the balance from Bama. This year, Bama raised him to $714,000 and his SC buyout is over. It was in the LA media not long ago.

The last payment was in January. So I assume he'll get a raise from Bama after this year, assuming he doesn't take another job or completely flame out.

My numbers weren't meant to be exact, since they were different for each year and I couldn't remember each number. They averaged out to more than 3 million a year. But it was sure nice of USC to pay him almost 10 million to win rings at Alabama.

Yeah, because he was really taking the Trojans places when he got fired...

Like I said, if Bama drops two or three games this year, which is entirely possible, your Kiffy will go from loved to hated almost overnight. You've got an opening match you should win at a neutral site, but that's not a given. You have Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee all on the road and you have Auburn which tends to be a toss up game in any given year.

And things have gone swimmingly for the Trojans since they canned him.

It's gone swimmingly for the Trojans since Carroll left for the NFL. Don't act like starting at #1 preseason in 2012 and finishing 7-5 was an act of greatness or anything.

I still have no idea what the pollsters saw that suggested that probation strapped team was anywhere close to #1.
