Two in Three Republicans in the South Support SECEDING from the US While almost Half of Democrats out West Say The Same

"Unless it's a third world Central American country, then keep your ass there." - 'Murca.
I think you mean "Biden" not America.

Plenty of good ole boys willing to take in some Cubans, biden on the other hand....

These regions going completely anarchist?
If we keep saying we're going to dissolve the union because we don't get our way on every issue, yeah. At some point we'll have enough disagreements where tennessee is seceeding from Arkatuckessee, and East Tennessee is seceeding from Tennessee, and Soddy Daisy is seceeding from East Tennessee and Fred on Pigs Knuckle Drive is seceeding from Soddy Daisy. Every house is its own country and we're living in anarchy. I know it's hyperbolic, but this is a thread about dissolving the country.

We can somwhat agree Ash....I fully support vetted legal immigration to our nation. It is who we are and the fact that it has been politicized just like everything else makes me ill. This border rush is just not acceptable. I want people in this nation that have good intentions, hardworking (which is typical as I see it everyday) and want to be a part of America and unequivocally support that Ellis Island mindset. As far as I a concerned. bring us Venezuelans and Cubans and humanity from the truely oppressed nations of the world, not just the grievanced.

I think we are a smidge down from 100% agreement on everything.

Personally I would just completely reforge DC before abandoning the union. But that's just me.

I dont disagree. I'd say term limits would help, but I think term limits defeat the will of the people and legislators with experience can get more accomplished just because they learn and develop a base of knowledge about the things (specifically their committee assignments) while they are there. On the other hand, I'm tired of people like McConnell and Pelosi, who only aspire to maintain themselves and their party,

Maybe you should a country with a government more to your liking rather than trying to screw up everything for the rest of Americans that are happy being Americans.
I think the point of this thread is we are rapidly approaching a point where the majority of Americans are not happy.

Actually life is tribal. Let me and my community that I live with resolve issues where I live. Antithesis to progressivism and federalism which is basically rule of law from some distant place of a vast continent of 330M people that get to decide YOUR life. Doesnt sound like the bells of freedom to me

So how small do we divide things? People in Atlanta won't think the same as people in Augusta, people in Miami won't think the same as people in Pensacola. People at the north end of my street won't think the same as people at the south end of my street.

I think we'd all be happier if we focused less on politics and more on ourselves and our families. Allowing politicians to push us to the fringe is the issue, not your neighbor down the street who is in favor of legalized weed.

As you decrease the size of the group, "macro" becomes smaller. "There are 4 units at one end of the Pines of Del Boca Vista Phase 4 that voted for golf carts on the sidewalk, but there's 3 units on the other end that don't want sidewalk golf carts, we will now be splitting into phase 4A and 4B."

In the June 8, 1861 referendum, East Tennessee held firm against separation, while West Tennessee returned an equally heavy majority in favor. The deciding vote came in Middle Tennessee, which went from 51 percent against secession in February to 88 percent in favor in June.

Can it happen again, with East Tennessee isolated from the rest of the state?

Pretty sure I just said it could if you secessionists get you're way.

The Costanzas left Del Boca Vista

I pay my share of that and more that most based on my income bracket. Emotional plea denied.

Huh?

See my first answer. Denied again.

I resent having to pay large sums of money to an inefficient federal government with lousy ROI and rampant waste. Anybody with a lick of common sense and any real earnings would. If you’re happy with your ROI you are economically ignorant.

I'm not. I agree our government is inefficient. But the solution is to vote for more efficient government, not dump the model.

I have a feeling that when those folks realize the practical consequences that such a step would cause, they might not feel the same way.

No Medicare
No Social Security
No national military
No national infrastructure and chaos in air travel
What you’re saying is people have become too dependent on government. Great point.

If I remember correctly, so did the Seinfelds... in a very nice Caddilac.

The way I see it:

The capitalist Seinfelds , left commie NY to escape to FLA...go figure. In spite the commie Costanzas (I mean they dressed like Stalinists) moved to FLA in "spite". Yada yada yada a capitalist pig's Caddy is wrecked in a "swamp" by the arch enemy..all the fault of his own, yet blames it on the capitalist and the capitalist raincoats son has to live in the car. Spite turns itself again as the commies move back to their homeland.

Sorry..just the way I saw it
