I really like the build of that NY kid. Just looks like a SEC running back. Have a hard time not seeing him end up at a school like Ped State though.
I think Osovet is our in...and Frank’s beginning to tank.

I know the 247Sports Crystal Ball is all Texas for Top247 athlete Kitan Crawford, but Tennessee is in a great spot with the Tyler (Texas) John Tyler big-timer. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Crawford is one of the fastest defensive backs in the country and a playmaker in the secondary. The Vols are battling the Longhorns and Oklahoma and I kind of like Pruitt and his staff to pull him out of the Big 12’s backyard.

Pruitt, Ansley, and Nieds are recruiting at a higher level than others on the staff. That’s for sure.

Tyler (Texas) John Tyler 2020 four-star CB/ATH Kitan Crawford has enjoyed a gradual rise up the charts this offseason. He assembled a solid junior season, then really opened eyes during track season, with seven sub-11.00 100 times, including a top time of 10.60 seconds.

Crawford included Tennessee in his top three, along with Texas and Oklahoma, when he released his list June 6. He took an official visit the weekend of April 12 to Knoxville, and he has not yet taken any other official visits, though he made an unofficial visit June 1 to Oklahoma. Texas was the first to offer him of the three as the Longhorns extended an offer Feb. 13. Tennessee offered Feb. 21, while OU offered May 7.

Crawford is very quiet and does not do a lot of interviews. Having said that, there seems to be increasing buzz about Texas in this recruitment. The first two 247Sports Crystal Ball forecasts have gone to Texas as well. Several players from Crawford's school over the years have gone to Texas (and if you want to go back longer, the Texas names you would recognize from John Tyler are Earl Campbell and Aaron Ross).

But as Steve Wilftong noted in his breakdown, Tennessee seems to definitely be in the mix here. The next thing to watch is when he takes his official visits to Texas and OU. For a good while, Crawford was believed to be closing in on a decision, perhaps as soon as May or June. Well, that timeline now seems to be pushed back, in part because of Crawford adding a few more offers during the spring evaluation period, particularly Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Said he's going to take the rest of his OVs and probably won't made a decision until the end of summer. We'll need to get him back on campus with his family. Can't let Texas have the last visit.
