'20 TX QB Haynes King (TAMU Commit)

Couple of quotes I found on a UTjr board.

If Texags is saying that it’s 50/50 Tennessee or A&M then it really is more like 70/30 Tennessee.

I went to Longview High School. From those in Longview, King's dad, who is the head coach at LHS, has more than once, let it be known, that he is NOT a fan of Jimbo or aggy. Doesn't mean that aggy doesnt eventually win this kid, but I just don't see it happening. So really, who knows?

I don't think I know a single person from Longview, besides you, apparently, but I have some buddies that know the story there. The dad just thinks Fisher runs a grist mill, doesn't have the players' best interests at heart, and will probably wind up elsewhere down the line anyway. To boot, Fisher doesn't exactly give off the "we're brothers in the same vocation" vibe that is expected in the coaching fraternity.

"We'll see what happens as the end of the month and an expected decision draw near, but I'd call this one 50.1 to 49.9 in favor of A&M based on the intel I've received."

Translation: I don't have a ****ing clue where the kid is going and neither does anyone else who will talk to me/us, but, I cannot stand the idea of him going elsewhere so I'm going to pretend and say we're in the lead by a made up margin because oh God please don't let him sign with Tennnessee

Like Swanson said A&M is the easy answer right now... The fact we are so constant in any and all discussions, gives me solid hope... I think we are the favorite here.

I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if he chose A&M but I really think Tennessee leads. I also think the allure of cutliffe and an education at duke is more appealing than some think right now. If not for distance I don’t believe A&M would even be a factor. Just my feeling from chatter around this thing.

I’ll just say that rumored beefs between coaches and parents rarely end up ringing true...unless it’s our assistants farting on Granny’s couches or calling mom’s beyotches. 😖

Best part of the Solomon story is he ended up transferring here to play for the coach who he and his mom supposedly had beef with. Kinda discredited that dog narrative.

Never had a beef with Pete Jenkins...or his students. 😎

CB to A&M from Brian Perroni. He is an A&M writer that is 22/22 this year on picks.

Based on Perroni’s CB activity today. A&M is about to load up. Dallas Walker is one of the four he CB’d to A&M today.

Perroni on his CB picks this morning...

The first one was for Longview QB Haynes King. I have to add the caveat that a Tennessee commitment would not be shocking. However, everything is lining up well for the Aggies. Being only three hours away from Longview, his dad being a HS coach in the state and Fisher's offense are all selling points.

King is currently on an official visit to Duke that ends on Friday. He was at Auburn this past weekend. I don't think either will be big players in this as it is pretty much an A&M/Tennessee battle. He wants the decision made before the Elite 11 at the end of this month and I think it could come early next week.

Just more guessing from writers.

VOL

Did we get an OV from him?
Yes, he was here two weeks ago for an OV. And once on an UOV in March. Vols are in a good spot, he loves UT and the idea of being coached by Chaney and Weinke. His mom loved Knoxville. Chaney offered him day 1 when he was hired and we've recruited him very well. A&M only offered recently. Buzz for Aggies is just due to proximity, which can be difficult to overcome at times. We'll see but I still think Vol.
