Biggens: “Kaidon Salter would be, I mean, rank him amongst the last three or four or five, from a talent standpoint, when do you think the last time Tennessee brought in a quarterback as talented and with the upside of Kaidon right now?”
Power: “I would put him up there with anybody they’ve brought in from a pure talent standpoint. I know Harrison Bailey is going to come in and compete and be ready to play. He’s polished, battle-tested, played top high-school competition. But man I love Kaidon Salter's ceiling. You’re talking about a guy who is highly mobile. You’ll see him turning backflips on the seven-on-seven field, but he can throw the ball like 70 yards. This is a guy with a huge arm and is a really good player.
"This was his first year starting at his high school, last year, and he had a really good junior season against probably the best competition you can play in the Dallas area. So he’s a guy that, I think we’ve kind of compared him, his rise, to CJ Stroud's last year. I think his rise probably started a little earlier than CJ’s, but I think he’s a guy that, assuming he continues to get better and show some good signs as a senior, I think he’s a guy that could be one of the top quarterbacks in the class when it’s all said and done. At least he has that type of ceiling. We’ll have to see how it shakes out. But I’m really high on his ability for sure.”
Same off of DNT and GB
I’ve known deuce and his brother since he was 4 They played football with my little brother and I actually worked for his mom when I was in HS. They have been to my house many many times. Great kids.I HIGHLY recommend you go watch the Denton Guyer - Cedar Hill game if it's played. Will be at the Cotton Bowl. Guyer beat them 2 times last year and also beat Aledo. Guyer lost their stud running back but return the QB going to A&M and also a stud defensive back in Deuce Harmon.
Some of these folks on here have been a little on the arrogant/rude side and I apologise for that and I want you to know that Tennessee fans are overall great fans and great people and we are extremely excited about the possibility of getting Kaidon up on Rocky Top. Go Vols!Very well played. It's easy to see why he's going to Tenn. First the way they treated him and family on the unofficial, then letting his younger brother dress up in the unis, (They all seem to think he's the best athlete of the bunch. Will be playing LB on varsity for Cedar Hill as a Soph), and now showing love to the youngest. They told him he was their QB1 and they have done nothing but prove they were telling the truth. Congrats Tennessee. You are getting a good one. For all the naysayers, when the time is right, I'll upload some pics to verify and a couple pics ya'll will absolutely hate.
Wow, that makes you want HB to start and him redshirt.
I think Pruitt will start who he thinks will give him the best chance of winning. He said the JG we saw in the Missouri game was who they saw in practice. I took from that we didn't see how bad the others were in practice. Hoping HB is a great practice player or at least performs well when he gets in.100% agree, SaS.
In a normal football program, that is what you would see. The third year HC would have more trust in his personally recruited QB's to run the proven offense of his personally hired, elite OC. Maybe I am looking at this like a normal person, which is not the way it has been in the bizarro world of our Vols in the past decade. I love CJP, but I will never truly understand why he did not cut JG loose after last season. It is way past time to turn the page. I cannot even imagine the elite HC's of the past and of other currently successful programs that would put up with it. Look what Dabo did with Bryant and Lawrence as an example. Saban, Spurrier, etc. all cut them loose and went with winners. Even Jalen Hurts was benched for Tua at half time - the same Hurts who had won them a NC previously. HB could be our Lawrence or Tua, but will we ever really know?
I sincerely hope CJP gets this soon. Otherwise he will end up being just a pretender. I see so much that makes me happy with him. He needs to get this part of it - at all positions - but especially at QB, the most important position of the field and in the locker room. I will not even get into that later point other than to say a guy who is too self focused cannot lead others successfully.
