I Just don’t think it’s true.. not high on him? Why recruit him? He may like more weapons that salter could have like legs but I do not think we waste all this time recruiting a kid for so long if he’s not “high” on him. He’s had maybe two practices at UT if that. HB has been the talk of VN and now we have posters already spewing fodder about him not being what Chaney likes... Chaney took Nathan Peterman and made him a draft pick yet he’s not “high” on bailey? The same Chaney that some of y’all said JG has all the tools? I’m not buying it.The rumors on Chaney not being really high on hb are true, but it doesn’t matter because bailey will be given every opportunity to prove him wrong and I believe he will.
IF TRUE... then basically because he knows the kid and his ability much better than you, me, or the recruiting sites that gave Bailey 5*.If Chaney believed in Nathan Peterman enough to have him transfer in and get him drafted then I have no clue how he wouldn’t have been thrilled to coach HB.
well, the lawrence range is a very small one....IF TRUE... then basically because he knows the kid and his ability much better than you, me, or the recruiting sites that gave Bailey 5*.
I have resisted buying the hype... and am still not buying it. I don't think he wins the job or even becomes #2 this year. If I'm wrong then great... UT will have a star in the making. But I've watched a ton of highlights from various QB's over the years. I didn't see anything to make me think HB was in the Lawrence range.
That’s the standard? You got highlights putting Salter up there?IF TRUE... then basically because he knows the kid and his ability much better than you, me, or the recruiting sites that gave Bailey 5*.

Wrap it up, BI know AV said they are bullish on Salter but idk how any coaches could not be “high” on any kid they just signed and hasn’t even had a full weeks worth of practice. I don’t see it as a slight to HB to say Salter could have a higher ceiling to the coaches but for Chaney just to not be high on him just seems dumb. He’s a 5 star QB who is in a class of his own with Deshaun Watson, Jake Fromm and Trevor Lawrence I’m Georgia high school football just look at the stats. I think it’s either a pitch to sell to Salter to get him to UT or our fans are truly dumb and setting it up so they can bitch and moan and say “I told you so” the moment HB throws his first pick. AV said nothing about Chaney not being high on HB just that they like Salter.
You have got to be kidding. He hasn't even been through a full spring practice, and he may have "peaked" lolMeaning he has reached near his ceiling of potential. This is completely hypothetical and I’m no scout, for all I know this could be Chaney’s train of thought. I was only offering a possible reason for them being higher on Salter
Probably.Lot of highlights. I interpret higher level of play off of them. Eye of the beholder thing.
Ball gets there in a hurry...and where he wants it. Not always the end result for either Shuler or Bray. Jeff George had the most gifted arm talent of my generation...not my standard for face of the program QB’s. Beholder eyes.Probably.
But when I consider arm strength Bray and Shuler are kind of my bench marks. Neither HB nor Salter have that kind of pure arm talent. Doesn't mean they cannot be good.... just not enough reason for me to buy in until their other abilities are displayed. HB may have great instincts for timing and ball placement.... I just don't think I can conclude that based on his highlights.
