TX QB Kaidon Salter (Liberty signee)

HB has been groomed to be a college qb for years and is most likely already developed closer to his potential verses an athletic prospect like Salter?
Would expect so. He's been on the radar since like the 7th or 8th grade.

If the staff thinks the kid is the truth and possibly better it’s certainly not a bad thing but that in no way means the staff thinks HB is a slouch. HB had his first spring cut short so not sure how much “water cooler talk” can go on. I am still on board with HB and think he will be a UT great. If Salter is better it’s a win win.

Easier to believe than Chaney couldn't see the difference in talent. Fields just had 51 tds and 3 int at OSU. Smart just keeps making mistakes and stringhamming the offense. And now, according to AV, is sinking in recruiting because of himself 🤣
I think he had a say. And the Fields we saw in Columbus isn’t necessarily what we’d have seen in Athens as a true freshman. Easy to declare that he’d have hit the ground running but there’s that pesky reality that maybe he benefitted from the bench view.

I used the data from Max Preps to calculate the passer rating for KS & HB using the NCAA formula. Kaidon had a huge jump in improvement from his So year to his Jr year. This is just comparing passing and doesn't consider the run aspects Kaidon can bring to the game. I watch a little bit of his Jr film and was making notes, ball placement, footwork, and I quit watching after a while because it was a waste of time. I was just writing down Wow! after each play. Obviously both of these guys will have to adjust to the speed of SEC play but it looks to me like we'll have two exceptionally talented prospects joining our QB room. jmo.

Seems like the healthy way to build competition and depth

Nice. Could you calculate using Total QBR? I believe that is the one that incorporates running. @ChattaTNVol

I think there was better QB development back in the day when they had an opportunity to play in JV games against the varsities of div. 2 schools.Of course, now the div. 2 schools play real games against the varsities so they can grab money.

Lucas Coley. Some were saying he was going to commit to Arkansas on the 5th with Kaidon a lock to Tennessee.
Shows you how much pull Clemson has. They called Coley and said to hold off on Arkansas and he did without hesitation apparently.
