TX QB Kaidon Salter (Liberty signee)

Bama won how many titles with elite LBs, and without elite QBs?
While true, we are beyond those days. Defense wins you a lot of steady games. It can certainly get you to the playoffs. But offense has been winning championships recently.

We saw what UGA's #1 defense could not do vs LSU. Or Bama could not do vs Clemson the year before. Championship games have been really high scoring recently. Modern rpo, read option, dual threat QB, etc style offenses are too much for any college defense.

Making plus with your legs is always a nice bonus but always give me the quarterback who is best at getting the ball to his weapons with a minimal of mistakes whilst doing so.

This kid to UT is what Jordan Love is to GB imo. A guy with elite (Potentially SEC POTY) upside but doesn’t seem to extremely polished. Can he adapt quickly to the offense and make the intermediate throws? That remains to be seen.

He’s got time and has the right attitude.

I'm not saying ESPN hates us or not. But I don't even consider their rankings. In fact, 247 should stop including them in their composite and ESPN should farm out their services to 247. They don't even scout many of these kids in person. It's Tom Lemming sitting in an office watching highlights and looking at offers. Their ratings are a joke.

Scout.com was the best because they had the most scouts around the country seeing these kids in person. 247 absorbed Scout, so now they're the best. Of course, every service is subject to some biases, but ESPN is just incompetent.

While my gut has been to agree with you, it seems that it's closer than we think based on this last NFL draft.

Which recruiting site won the 2020 NFL Draft?

Too much for any D except the one we're building...😉

But I agree Toots has been the best, proven croot so far. I dont know who else is that close.

But yes, Salter has the potential to be elite too and be his best. Time and patience.
True, but will he ever beat Bailey for the starting position? I don't believe so. He'll ride the bench and get to start after Bailey leaves, assuming he doesn't get recruited over. JMO

I could always be wrong and he could end up being the next Kyler Murray. We can only hope!
