TX QB Kaidon Salter (Liberty signee)

The point I’m trying to make here is that I agree that a QB change needs to be made, and I’m open to anyone except for Shrout lol. Next season though I think Salter is gonna be right up there with Bailey.

It is cool that we discredit Bailey for having some playmakers around him. Why don't we discredit Uiagalelei and Young, who both went to traditional high school powerhouses.
Idk what either had, but unlikely either had a 5* mismatch TE/WR freak either. Tbf, Gilbert was a cheat code in hs. Is what it is.

Basically between 2020-2022 classes he had three 4* WR, a 4* RB, a 3* WR and a 3* RB. Plus a few 3* OL and a 4* OL protecting him. Something like that.

But for sure nobody like Arik Gilbert

By no means is he a statue, but to be fair that is high school football which is a lot slower than the SEC. One of our current QB’s, who fans absolutely don’t wanna see on the field again, was also a hell of a runner in high school. Statue in the SEC

JG averaged 2 yards per carry. Him as a dual threat was a joke.

As much as I like Bailey and think he will be a good College QB, his lack of mobility is a concern. My personal preference would be a guy that's maybe not as polished as a passer but brings a different energy with his legs. I think Salter may be that guy. Time will tell.
Trevor Lawrence is not any more mobile than Bailey...but he is a smart runner when he needs to be. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't turn down Lawrence...or Mac Jones...or Kyle Trask...

It absolutely has. I just don’t think one has to have a true duel threat to run spread and win. What I’ve seen from Hyatt and the flash of Wideman give me an accurate gunslinger.
Agreed...Joe Burrow just had an all universe year..This bullcrap that you gotta have a true DT to compete or even set records is total garbage.

Could be. I like Bailey a lot and believe he will do well. Just personally prefer more of a run threat. Both or either is a big upgrade for us.

Changing the subject completely. Saw a take on the UF/Mizz brawl where someone is suggesting the Mullen should be suspended because "HE DIDN'T WEAR A MASK ON THE FIELD". Saw that and thought of you.

Look at what Mac Jones is doing. He isn’t a DT QB either. Neither is Kyle Trask. Both are lighting it up. You do not have to have a DT QB. You just have to have a great OL, WRs, TEs, RBs and a QB who is really good with decisions.

It’s that human dynamic of “we HAVE to have THAT over THERE!” vs THIS over HERE having both historical and current success. 😏

This... u have to have playmakers and a really good line If your qb can’t run

While I disagree with your Lawrence comparison of not being more mobile, I agree with your point in that Bailey is plenty mobile for the job. I don't know why this argument continues on and on.

If nothing else to prove it's possible to argue without name calling, putting people on ignore, etc. I'm concerned about Bailey's mobility. I may be right or I may be wrong. Either way we are better off moving forward than we are now.
