'20 TX RB Zachary Evans

Someone has said he has an ACT issue. It just seems odd that a kid who graduated from High School in December is having a hard time getting a qualifying ACT score.

Somehow it's only fitting that all these schools have jumped through every hoop imaginable and the fans have gone ape chit hoping he commits to their school, and he ends up at a JUCO college. Perfect end to a recruitment like this.

It really is an odd recruitment. And as good as he is, it won't bother me if he chooses somewhere else. (If he comes here ..great) I wish the kid luck. But I love our class.

It will bother me if he ends up at UF...whatever else this kid is, he is a great RB and I do not want him at any of our rivals.

Immature nonsense. I dislike the process that inflates these kids into prima donnas. Sign for a team,,, shut up and play football.
We are on a message board, that talks about a football team we all pay tons of money to support and watch our players play. It’s a billion dollar business and big schools like Tennessee recruit the best. The process to recruit the best is have them develop in front of 102k fans on Saturday and millions more on tv, then go make millions in the nfl. These guys are 18 and some will be immature, but I’m afraid for better and for worse it shouldn’t be a surprise to people kids act this way.

There have been people graduate from high school who cannot read. I am not saying this is the case with ZE, but high school graduation in the US does not equate to any particular ACT/SAT score.

they must not have attended the same elementary schools here in TN.

Happy we are pushing our kids, but, all this trying to keep up with China (one size fits all) is ridiculous.

at any rate, sad kids are growing up with deficiencies.

I don't disagree. But this guy graduated early. Most of the kids that are up for these scholarships that have trouble with school or test scores are not graduating a semester early. For example, JJP or Pickens. Those guys were going down to the wire on whether they would complete what they were needing. I also haven't followed recruiting until a couple of years ago so I am basing it off of not much. LOL.

Supposedly graduated with a 3.0 and from what I've seen is a smart kid. The act rumors have come from Georgia fans.

Today is a testing date for the ACT. Next one is April 4th. They recommend testing "at least two months ahead of the application deadlines". It just might be the reason he's slow playing things...well...that and enjoying the attention for an extra few months.

I think the best place to be with this kid is maybe the second school he attends and maybe the first is JUCO.. He has already cut his options down tremendously. If he were to go to UF, I think a good chance he winds up in trouble with the law. If he comes here, CJP is not going to put up with sny crap and he transfers before he matures. Ole Miss? Will Lane be able to balance enabling his dysfunction, keeping him on the field and out of the portal.

I really think our best course is to support him, but gently push JUCO and see if he matures. I well may be completely wrong on him, but believe these are not warning bells, but klaxons.

Bottom line: I do not believe he finishes at the first school he attends unless when he tries to transfer, no "greener" pastures are willing to accept him. We will be better in a year and he will have had a dose of reality.

I agree that it should be unusual for an early graduate to face test score difficulties and we do not know if ZE has such issues. Ideally, a high school graduate should easily obtain the qualifying test score, but that is not always the case. The test score requirement is a sliding scale based upon the student’s GPA. Lower GPAs require a higher test score to qualify. Some athletes obtain a score that would be ok if their GPA was actually higher.

I don't think it is above Georgia fans to pass along erroneous information on a player either.
Especially when it’s one they didn’t end up with. Kinda like Florida fans saying “We didn’t want him anyway” just after having a meltdown over not signing said player. Smh. The pettiness of those fan bases never ceases to amaze me.

Seems someone said it wouldn't have reached the point of his signed NLI being accepted originally, if there were any issues.

Gotta lean butthurt dawgs on this one.
