'20 TX RB Zachary Evans

We'll be talking to Sphyre the company that is doing the NILs for UT. Also he will meet with Heup, Golesh, and Shack watch some film and get a feel for the offense. I don't really want him to watch film of the OL. That to me would be a negative because the OL was not good.

Really really focus on the Mizzou game.

Wow that's the real deal then. Thought we were still talking him into coming up. Sounds like we have a shot.

I hope Sphyre has a great pitch ready.

Our Oline wasn't great but they weren't awful. We were 19th in rushing this year and went against 4 teams that finished in the top 17 against the run with a starting Oline that only played 3 games together. If Tiyon stays healthy most of the year we easily finished top 10.

The fit makes too much sense but I understand he wants his NIL deals.

Aside from Bama and UGA we did well against a multitude of teams, including multiple bowl teams.

We gotta pay the man and turn him loose.

Watching Mizzou will not be a focus for Zach. He doesn't care about beating up a bum team.

So is he going to judge our OL on when we had to play like 3 players who can’t play one being a walk on because we lost our best right tackle and center…? I mean come on now…. When we had both Mays brothers playing our line was pretty good. There was young lineman talent but they needed time to develop.

Yhea. The OL wasn’t great this year, but they were much better this year than they were under your buddy Pruitt.

It will be an overall evaluation. What existed last yr doesn't really even count. What's returning as well as what played when they were out is more of an indicator of next year to him probably. I guess depth chart is a better way of saying it.

It's hard to evaluate after 1 year. I think we'll see some development from guys like Parker, Perry, and Crawford. I also think Cooper Mays has a chance to get better after a full year under this staff. Carvin and Spraggins do give us a very good Guard combo in 2022 and Wright is solid at LT.

Only watch the Mizzou game…

Still did decent considering the competition level.

Believe that if you want. But if that’s truly the case, why hasn’t Texas, Bama or UGA already locked him up?
Bama and UGA always have a full stable of top tier backs, they don’t have to bend over backwards and kiss a single backs a$s like its gonna take to get Evans. They’ll be just fine without him.
IDK about Texas

How do you think they got a full stable of RBs? Elite schools do what’s necessary to land top talent, call it whatever you like.

The issue with the OL was mostly depth. When we had all of our staters in, we blocked pretty well, imo. The problem was, they weren't on the field together very often.

Elite Schools, you said it. They have choices others don’t. They have a surplus of top recruits that will go to them. They can pass on a few that are to demanding.
UGA reportedly had Evans last year. Fell through for some reason.
Like you said “Elite schools do whatever necessary to land top talent “ and there’s about 6 elite schools, and if a top talent isn’t likely going to any of them 6 , then likely they consider him a pass.

Bijon Robinson isn’t their problem…nor any of the backups.

It doesn’t work the way you think it does. Sure elite schools are going to get theirs but sometimes a kid passes and goes to another program. Elite prospects end up other places for reasons other than those programs passing on them.

did de1 say that he operates out of the Nashville area? I wonder if Evans is in Nash ahead of going to Knox. Kiffin is in the area today.

I've said this before, but I think that adding Zach Evans to this offense could and should improve our PPG by at least 10, probably more like 13.
Derrick Henry moved the line 6pts the first game he was out for. Not sure if it makes a 10 ppg difference but could be wrong
