'20 TX RB Zachary Evans

I’ve said I like CP, thought he was a stud at UT and has had a very good pro career. And yes, he was/is a great kick returner. The new NFL rules hurt guys like him, Percy and others. Heck, Devin Hester had a borderline Hall of Fame career based on kick returns. If he started today, he’d probably be out of the league within a year or two.

Look, I defer to you and Vol Nation on who they think of as legends. I have my own ideas but I’m sure I would miss some. I think of the obvious ones; Manning, Eric Berry, Big John Henderson, Derek Barnett and many many others.

For most Florida fans, Demps/Rainey will always be remembered as a great duo on championship teams.
That's cool. Obviously, u know more about who Florida fans consider legends than I do.

Btw, I think Hester gets into the NFL HoF, eventually

I have no clue what Texas' RB situation currently looks like. If Evans wanted in they'd absolutely take him, but I assume they didn't go all in on him since they had Robinson.

Robinson and Marshwn Lloyd are the two best backs in 2020 imo...
Sleegro posted about Texas greatly desiring Evans, just wants to leave Texas tho.

The D-Erik King kid should consider transferring there...

Well, if Evans comes here. That'll be some serious juice added.

Evans
Holliday
Calloway
Hyatt all on the same offense is scary.

According to the VQ pod, we’re going to try and get him to visit this weekend. If he does, it will only be him and an OL. Sounds like they want to play together. Maybe we take the OL and seal the deal if we can get him to visit 🤷‍♂️
Damieon George? That’s the kid Bama signed to get Evans. They didn’t let him sign early, they won’t let him sign.

I'm guessing it's Dameion George.

IMO Evans and Robinson were the elite backs followed by Chaney Jr, Lloyd, Milton, Bowman, and McClellan in any order. Who knows how it’ll end up though. Some kids make the jump better than others.

Evans is an enigmatic, free-spirited guy who reminds me of Arian Foster personality-wise. Interesting read on him from last summer:

Evans still doesn’t watch much football in his free time. What he does occasionally take in is highlights of running backs he respects like Petersen, Leonard Fournette and Ezekiel Elliott; Elliott and Evans share the same “Zeke” moniker – a nickname of Evans’ since youth. Evans also closely follows his 2020 competition, watching their highlights and mimicking their best moves in his mind.

“It wasn’t football for Zachary,” Sterling said. “It’s really still not. He’s really good at it, but football is just not him. He don’t watch football. He don’t talk about football. None of that. I won’t say it’s not something he doesn’t want to do, because of course he wants to do it. But he just wasn’t attracted to it. It just didn’t catch his attention.”

Ask Evans what he wants to be known for, and he starts with the cookie cutter answer of a “great player” before rolling toward more intriguing territory. “I want people to realize I’m genuine. No matter what when you get Zach, you get 100 percent Zach. You get the football player. You get everything.”

The phrase “everything” means many things to the masses who follow Evans. He’s the No. 1 running back in the country. He’s the next Adrian Petersen. He’s a recruiting mystery. He’s a recruiting headache. He’s an artist. He’s someone who’s lost people. He’s someone who hurts. He’s young with too much responsibility. He’s a soon-to-be high school senior with the profile of a legendary figure.
Ink, pain, mystery: The world according to Zach Evans

If we're serious about signing another RB, though, I'd prefer that we offer Jalen White. I believe White is tremendously underrated, more likely to be a reliable team player and less likely to be a headache than Evans. Probably too late, though, given his upcoming visits to Florida and Florida State.
