I would room thisnkid with Trey Smith. Our culture we have created should be good for this kid. Is he actually considering us? Probably not. But you miss 100% of the shots you dont take

Freshmen typically don’t room with seniors. I’d pair him with Omari Thomas.. dude is the definition of a role model and will be a GREAT ambassador for UT in 2-3 years. Getting around a high character kid like that would help him a lot because just from my point of view, North Shore doesn’t have many kids like that.

Since he had the NLI fiasco with UGA, don't believe he can sign another NLI. Only a grant in aid, which he can sign those with multiple schools. So even if he commits somewhere it probably won't be over until he gets on campus in the summer. This thing could linger on for another 4-5 months and this thread will make the Darnell Washington thread look like child's play.

While I think that's is a 0% chance this kid ends up here, it would be amazing if he did. Coach Pruitt (and our other coaches) are used to handling the various issues that come with 5* talents. Bringing in this kid and HB in the same class, to go along with the speed we've added at WR, puts us back in the SEC east discussion in 2021 for sure.

I agreed with u. I'm just saying he eventually matured and did well for himself. Like Evans possibly could
Understood and agreed.

I just kind of feel like..If Pruitt thinks he and staff can work with him and help him, then I am not against getting him no matter how wary I feel, but if they do...I hope he doesn't cause problems.

We just now seem to finally be flipping the culture, and finally everybody seems to be rowing the same direction for the first time since the early aughts..I do not want that direction changed for one individual...no matter how talented they are.

I do not want a Chizik era Awbarn situation. Yeah...It feels really great for one glorious season but it is not founded on solid rock, and then is easily and greatly destroyed.

I have the benefit of many decades of perspective now. Long ago I would have traded anything for a NC...but not now.

i think one of the major selling points this staff has for a kid like this is the Juwan Jennings story......i would be hard pressed to imagine that his story here isn't used when talking to evans about what is possible for him, regardless of what perception is...if he's willing to do the work. obviously he wouldn't start off like JJ did, but in terms of getting a "fresh start", having some expectations and goals set for him.....and what that could look like on the other side...............

well, proof is in the pudding as they say...and JJ has had 2 fantastic seasons, and is turning NFL heads at the Senior Bowl and may have turned himself in to a day 2 pick....

it depends on where Evans' head is, but coming here does make a lot of sense, if he's looking at it the right way.....

All he has to do is look at our OL, it's a no brainer.

LOL, there's no indication Evans is even visiting campus this weekend, let alone signing with us, and now we're talking about potential roommates.

Sorry sorry sorry y'all.. Meant to say near the bottom in rushing yards. OL is too good for that to happen

Don't think you're wrong but I do believe there's circumstances worth noting.
Like, regardless of how good they're gonna be, Morris and Wright were still freshmen.
Trey playing all year without really practicing.
Kennedy has been in a state of recovery since he's been here.

And potentially our best back wasn't ready in other areas. It's a serious disadvantage once we reached the point of Gray going in, they knew he was getting the ball because of blocking issues.
I have to believe we'll see a step forward in all these areas this year.

Good post.We will see improvement in the ol and running back positions for sure. The competition for playing time in those 2 position groups will be fierce. I think you will see Ty Chandler make a huge step also

6/12th is in the middle. And if he signs it doesn’t matter where we finish cause we got emm already at that point

Where do you get 6/12? I see 9th in total yards and 12th in yards/game.

I agree with Charger though - with Evans or not, we're taking a huge step forward next year. Rushing will be a strength for Tennessee.

My post was before he clarified he was talking about rushing yards. “Near bottom of the SEC” everyone thought he meant in terms of overall finish. Based on record we tied for 6th with Texas AM

So we’re just not supposed to talk about recruits until they sign with us?

Why are you even on this forum if that’s the case 🤡
