'19 TX WR Jalen Curry

I don't understand the fascination with Curry. We're talking about a guy who's ranked anywhere from 14th to 23rd at his position, depending on whether you're looking at Rivals or 247. That's solid, but IMO he's not a program changer. There's dozens of guys who can give us what he could give us. I think Curry is better than Trey Knox, but not by much and Knox is closing the gap.

Some of it is probably because he seems to be close to Wanya and Bogle and having one may help get them all.

Would love to see Pruitt win another one against Auburn 😂 no reason to doubt him now

Now i feel silly. What are the 3 “wins” and 1 loss in recruiting against them? Morris, Brown, Keyton? And “lost” Pappoe?

“they’re still on me, maybe more than ever,” said curry, who’s ranked the no. 150 overall prospect and no. 25 wide receiver in the industry-generated 247sports composite for the 2019 class. “the whole coaching staff texts me consistently. I talk to coach (jeremy) pruitt more now. I talk to (quality control analyst tino) sunseri a lot. That’s my dude. He’s one of the reasons why i’m even considering tennessee, because when he was at florida state, me and him had built a real good relationship.

“when i committed (to florida state), one of the reasons was because of him. So, when he mentioned tennessee, that played a huge factor. Me and him have a great relationship. And i talk to coach (david) johnson, the wide receiver coach, a lot, also. He’s a real cool dude.”

“to be honest with you, i don’t really have no leader,” said curry, a former florida state commitment who reopened his recruitment in december. “but tennessee is really high on my radar. I have a great relationship with almost all of the coaching staff. Me and pruitt communicate a lot. The offensive coordinator (tyson helton), we speak a lot all the time, and coach johnson, so i have a great relationship with the coaches. “and about all the coaches are texting me daily. That lets me know they really want me and they’re really coming for me, and that’s always a great feeling.”

curry said he spoke with pruitt on monday night. “(pruitt) just let me know everything, catching me up on how he’s been lately and everything. They just got back in the office, i think, monday, and they’re ready to start up very soon,” curry said, referring to tennessee’s upcoming preseason practice, which is scheduled to begin on aug. 3. He said the vols have continued to make it clear to him that he’s “a big priority for their class.” “they’ve really wanted me for a while, and they just let me know how much they really want me now,” curry said. “and i can be a very big playmaker at tennessee and play early.”

“oh, man, that’s like my brother,” curry said of bogle. “we’re both from down south. Football is important in our states. I’ve known wanya since, like, sophomore or freshman year — something like that. I forgot how we met, but we just knew each other. And on the official visit, we all just made a bond — like, a little brotherhood — and we just became close. “but during the official was my first time meeting khris, and ever since then, we never looked back. We got closer and closer, and we talk more than ever right now. We most likely will end up at the same school.”
