I am not real sure why anyone is shocked. On a side note there is no telling where he actually ends up. With this transfer portal who really knows where kids will end up.

In short, so are you. Get out of fantasy land, Tennessee is a bottom 3rd SEC program now. Hugh Freeze won't be back in the SEC, too many skeletons in his closest and schools don't want that to come to light on their front porch. Quit being so ignorant, you make it sound like all UT had to do was offer Campbell 10 mil a year and boom he says yes. Tennessee offered Franklin, Saban type money and he said no.

If you look at the top 10 in state prospects for each of the last four years (40 players), we currently have 10...it will take time for the new staff to build relationships but hopefully in the near future we can keep more of the talent. We lose kids to Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and others but those three schools tend to cherry pick the best talent from everyone.

This is what we were doing much of the time Fulmer was HC.
IMO that was a significant factor, maybe the primary factor, in his record.

Dont bet your house that Freeze won't coach again, soon, in the SEC. And we will look even more foolish when his team thumps ours every time we play them.

So evidently you know more than this national sports writer who stated that Freeze was at the top of Auburn's list:

Freeze is friends with Malzahn and the article makes clear he was not enthused about that vacancy because of his friend just having been fired there. But by all means, continue to make things up - it makes you look every bit as intelligent as your avatar.

Heupel's shotgun based offense was a big problem NFL scouts had with Drew Locke, and why he returned for his senior year and they focused on getting him under center allot more.
You know Satan used that to pull him toward picking the Bubbas over Tennessee.

This what people don’t understand, or choose to ignore. Once that info got to the Chancellor’s people it die was cast. If they didn’t self report, it could boomerang into lack of institutional control. People who aren’t in the AD aren’t gonna take that bullet.
