Ty Simpson to Bama

Fair point, but I hope he fails in every way possible as proves to be a bust.
Meh, hope he just loses to Tennessee. Good kid from good family, Tennessee dropped the ball by being Tennessee as usual. Same damn deal with Trevor Lawrence. Clemson has essentially built a powerhouse with kids from regions that Tennessee used to cherry pick. Tennessee at some point along the way just quit caring about winning.

This was so expected, I don't know how anyone can be very disappointed with it. There is way too much uncertainty surrounding the program right now for any 5 star to take a chance on us. However, I think we will be just fine at QB with Salter.

That's the 1,000 lb. gorilla in the room. This prospect should have been a lay up for any head coach at UTK under even mediocre circumstances within the program. We are in or near the bottom of a deep crater. An accomplished head coach could have at least talked his way into getting Simpson to delay his decision. The fact that we didn't even get that tells me we're screwed on the recruiting front for the foreseeable future. If that doesn't change ASAP by overachieving on the field in a big way this Fall, CJH's goose is pretty much cooked before the oven even gets warmed up.
He was screwed as was almost anyone else before he got here. Tennessee didn’t just snitch on Pruitt they snitched on the kids within their program to get out of paying Pruitt. That’s not going away for a long time. But yeah lay it on Heupel that’s been here for long enough to learn where the bathrooms are.

he's getting paid to take the heat for this and everything else. if he doesn't like it he can sign some 5*s and win some games, or quit.

I'm telling you he may have all the tools but he has not faced any of the competition he is about to and it will be a culture shock. Bailey, Salter and hopefully if we get Horn have all faced competition in high school that Simpson has not and they will not have as much of a learning curve speed and talent wise. He will be a 2 or 3 year project no matter where he winds up. Playing 3A in Tenn is a long way from 6A in Texas and 7A in Ga. and it will show.

More worried about the rest of the 22 class, lots of talent in Middle Tennessee, everybody seems to be there but us. It’s a who’s who of college’s lurking Bama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State all seem to have it on their radar.

This is what happens when a program sucks for 16 years.

It is on Heupel and White to improve things, specifically on the field and in the W/L columns.

Simpson has been old news for awhile from my perspective.

Never expected him to be anywhere but Clemson or Bama. Vols are going to continue to feed on their crumbs until they start winning and winning big.

Don't like it at all but I don't blame him. Hope he has a miserable college experience every time he suits up against TN.

Bama does not give kids McDonalds bags full of money, they give them to-go boxes from Ruth Chris Steakhouse with keys to SUVS and thousands of dollars in Bit-Coin
The SUV thing is actually legit for Bama. There’s a kid that went to Bama from the same area I live in and the same day he signed with Bama his parents went from driving a beat up old car to a brand new Hummer. The vehicle was nicer than the car and house if that tells you anything. And then the Tua family just didn’t move there entire family to Alabama form Hawaii on there own dime I’m sure.

I thought UT but i am not sure he can beat Salter out and only time will tell!
I don’t think he is worried about playing time rather he can bets out HB, Salter, or Hooker he surely had a tougher road to climb at Bama with 4* and 5*’s at QB at Bama in the 4 deep. If he was looking for better shot at playing he would have picked UT over Bama.

It's not sour grapes to speculate that Salter could be just as good or better. You are right about the competition Simpson has faced. We will see.

This can't be stated enough. Tennessee has a ton of instate talent this year and now Simpson will be the ring leader to pull these kids to Bama. I don't blame the kid for going to the Gumps but hopefully one day kids will look at Tennessee in a more favorable light

He is not a UT Fan based on his decision.. if you're a Vol fan you come no matter what.
Yeah...uh...no.

If I want to go into medicine, I choose Harvard or Yale Medical over UT.
If I want to go into engineering, I choose Georgia Tech over UT.

What in the world does being a fan have to do with choosing what you feel is the best option for your future?

The guy made his choice based on historical evidence. We can move forward and find someone who wants to be here and wants to help turn the ship.

1. If I’m a 5 star QB and a “lifelong VOLS fan”, I’m signing with UT to right the ship and prove my bad-assery. Guaranteed 1st round NFL pick if I succeed in achieving my goals.

2. If my son was a 5 Star QB and a “lifelong VOLS fan” and he chose Alabama, I’d go watch every game in VOLS gear. I’d hope he threw for 400 yards and 4 Touchdowns in every game, and hope he lost every game!

If I'm UT, I move on from Simpson. He's made his decision. We need a QB in this class and we can't risk chasing this kid and coming up empty. Hello Mr. Horn.

Kaden Martin would be my pick since he is a dual threat QB. He might be a better option for the new offense.
