No, there are several coaches that came from Geno's tree. There are several others I didn't mention that are assistants at other schools like Morgan Valley and Stacey Hansmeyer.I said there was no "coaching tree to speak of" or an heir apparent... I was right. None of the coaches you cited were really worth mentioning.
And the US is trillions in dept and we keep on functioning. Not sure what your point is.UCONN is deeply in debt, yet they will pay an EXIT Fee to the AAC, and an ENTRY Fee to the NEW Big East. Those fees will total in the Millions of dollars.
The competition in women's basketball in the Big East will only be marginally better than the AAC.
Uconn men’s basketball has had a rough couple of years but the new coach has done a great job recruiting this past season. He is a known commodity that always improves the team’s he coaches. Now back to the traditional rivalries of Villanova and Georgetown along with more regional rivalries like Seton Hall, Providence and St. John’s rye men’s team will gain in attendance and national prominence.
As far as he women’s team, the talk here was how bad the AAC was and UConn would die because of that. Now you are saying the same thing about the Big East. Did you know that if you move UConn’s RPI to the Big East that their conference RPI would be higher than the SEC? Crazy, huh.
Within 3 years of Auriemma's retirement, their decline will begin. By year 5 of Auriemma's retirement, they will be fielding an average women's college basketball team... just like what has happened with their men.
I didn't know that she was an assistant anywhere... but I do remember her cheap shot on Tamika Catchings back in the day. She was dirty as hell. No, there are several coaches that came from Geno's tree. There are several others I didn't mention that are assistants at other schools like Morgan Valley and Stacey Hansmeyer.
I'm not sure why you feel the need to insult these women. Sometimes success in coaching is related to the teams you are hired by. Cincinnati is an awful program.
The us news numbers were 63 vs 115.
The was journal was 97 vs 419.
I brought up academics because someone stated that Tennessee is better in basically everything when it comes to enticing players to attend UConn. Academics were left out. These are student athletes, not pros, do it does matter.
Men's basketball will benefit a helluva lot more than women's. UConn takes DePaul to the shed every season. They will continue to dominate conference play, and I don't see the NBE offering up any more resistance than the AAC. They only put 2 teams in the NCAAT last season.UCONN is deeply in debt, yet they will pay an EXIT Fee to the AAC, and an ENTRY Fee to the NEW Big East. And I'll repeat myself again. In any measure I could find, UConn is considered a better academic institution. And I'll repeat myself again. No one is gonna look at the schools ranking and say, "I'm gonna go to UConn because they are #65 and Tennessee is #115." At that point, it's not even bragging rights...and anyone who thinks otherwise is pretty pathetic. These aren't top 20 schools, so #63 vs. 115 is no BFD.

UConn rolls over almost everyone. Including teams like South Carolina. So yes, the Big East teams should not offer much resistance.
However, they had the sixth best conference RPI while the AAC was ninth. It mattered this year between a ONE seed or a two seed.
Funny, but add UConn's RPI to the Big East last season and they jump ahead of the SEC into 5th best.
Key words...”Last Season”.UConn rolls over almost everyone. Including teams like South Carolina. So yes, the Big East teams should not offer much resistance.

It's the student-athlete that cares. When the BE has a higher RPI than the SEC, then what?Ninety-nine per-cent of the fans outside of the SEC don't give a crap about their school's academic ranking until they Lose to an SEC school.
Playing in the Big East in women's basketball is OK for a school like UCON, but I sure wouldn't be bragging to anyone about it.
And I'll repeat myself again. In any measure I could find, UConn is considered a better academic institution.
Sounds like UConn should have made the jump to the ACC. Y'all should have made the move while the offer was on the table...oh, wait. It's the student-athlete that cares. When the BE has a higher RPI than the SEC, then what?
The jump to the Big East from the AAC would be like Tennessee moving to the ACC. An improvement.
