UCONN goes down again…

Does a UConn loss deserve its own thread anymore? Not that unusual and more to come. IMO gives them more credit than they're currently due to make such a production of it. It will sure be interesting to see how they respond. They looked totally shellshocked today, from Geno right down to the managers.

Probably not. But some feel Geno going downhill is worth celebrating. He is a snarky jerk, and though I would prefer we spend our keystrokes building up the Lady Vols, rather than tearing down UConn? I do find it amusing for some reason.

NET Rankings Uconn's Next Ten Opponents:

100. Seton Hall

142. St. John's

1. South Carolina

166. Providence

34. Creighton

315. Butler

6. Tennessee

114. Villanova

44. DePaul

67. Marquette

The only one I am interested in is the seventh one. Make it happen, Kellie. Take it to em Ladies. I hope this turns out to be the most dominate showing the Lady Vols have ever made. Play like champions.

UConn roster - Starters #1 recruit Bueckers - out
#1 recruit Williams - out
Bench #1 recruit Fudd - out
2019 McD/WBCA AA Griffin - out

That's almost 50 points of production out with injuries/Covid. We will see how they do by the end of Feb.

But they found half of those missing points when bench warmer Ducharme was pressed into action.

How did you come up with numbers for Fudd?

Why even mention Griffin. She has not played the whole year and will not play this season.

Props to Ducharme and ONO for stepping up the way they did. ONO especially is someone I've ragged on for being overrated so this was an important showing from her, shuts the haters up a bit.

With that said, it almost seems like these two players have taken it upon themselves to salvage this team, rather than the coach? Did Geno basically mentally check out when Paige got injured??

Last year, at least one article referred to the team having to get Auriemma out of his "despondency." What the hey?

Fudd played off the bench in 4 games. She averaged 7.5 ppg. She was UConn's only reliable outside shooter.

It also keeps them in the "limelight" of women's basketball. Although a dim light, it still keeps them on youngster's minds. Let the sleeping dog lie, maybe they will go away for a while.
