Uconn is in trouble..

Maryland and SC are next in line. If it's anyone, I'll wager SC since they will have more time to work on their chemistry.

I agree with you on SC. I believe they have the size and experience to contend with UCONN's frontcourt.
Brianna Turner missed way too many layups tonight..

After watching UConn's undersize posts dominate against ND, I never want to hear complaints about Tennessee losing because they lack size in the post.

6'1 and 5'11, and they were the best posts on the court.

If not Notre Dame, then who??? Who beats UCONN this year?

Maryland or South Carolina? UCONN knows where they stand with this schedule. Besides SC in January the conference schedule will be extended practice until the NCAA tournament

Gabby Williams with a completely stuffed stat sheet, and Geno chewing her out for not securing a rebound with Uconn up by 13 with 20 seconds left.

No wonder these girls are vicious. Katie Samuelson clearly is no Ann Strother. She is a mismatch made in hell for most teams.

SC has the most talented first four in the country in Wilson, Gray, Davis and Coates. After that it drops off significantly. Not the most talented team in the country. UConn, ND, Texas, Baylor and even Duke have more talent than SC.

Too bad they don't have a point guard. It won't matter in the SEC, but they stand little chance against the likes of UConn....

It's been, what, a decade worth of extended practice.

They've lost 14 games in the last 10 years.

I do not care that much for Genno but can that man coach. During Pat's career many coaches came to her for advise. Holly could benefited from seeking advise from Genno. Right now he is the gold standard of WBB coaching. We talk about Holly's short bench, well Genno only uses 7 to 8 basketball players. Two of the UCONN players played every minute of the game. Genno has three floor leaders, Nurse, Collier and Williams, with Nurse appearing to be the Alpha Dog. One of our problems, among several, is we do not have an identifiable Alpha Dog or even an Alpha Puppy.

I cant hate on all UConn has accomplished and the sweat used to get there but this sport is just so blah and predictable now. How is it among 65 Power 5 coaches no one has managed to be competitive yet?

And Ohio State is likely the most talented team in the country. ND and UConn close behind. Unfortunately for OSU they don't have a good coach.

Women's basketball enthusiasts hate hearing this, but people by and large don't care about women's basketball.

it's just not a high priority for most programs to put a great women's basketball team on the court

Turner was not ND;s problem. Mabrey (1-8) and Westbeld (7 TO) were.

Now the question is - Is UConn really "in trouble?"

They've won 83 straight games! Did I hear that correctly? I guess only mighty Holly and the Vols are capable of stopping the Husky freight train!

UCONN is well coached and you can tell by the little things they do on the court. Coaching is number 1 especially on the college level. Let's be honest Tenn has more talent then UCONN. I bet Geno would take the current Lady Vols roster and have them playing outstanding basketball. Diamond and Mercedes would be the top 2 players in the nation if they had Geno. Diamond had no problems until she got to Tennessee.

This Tenn. team would be bowling over opponents if Geno were the coach, really if McGraw, Mulkey, etc. were the coach! I remember last year or maybe the year before, but there was mention that other coaches requested they be allowed to watch UConn practices because they were so instrumental in the UConn winning strategy. Those tough practices are legendary. Maybe Holly and her assistants need to do that, they can even do it secretly, doesn't matter. I know it may not do any good when you have a head coach that would never be able to use the UConn system successfully, but it might help.

Sad but true! The current LVs coached by Geno would beat the current UCONN team.

I hate to say it, but UCONN isn't losing another game this year. I just don't see who beats them, unless if Notre Dame or Baylor put together a monster miracle effort in the tournament.

Watching UCONN's games from Florida State to Baylor to Texas to Notre Dame, they are improving leaps and bounds every single night. Their great forwards (Williams/Collier/KLS) give them a dimension no other team has. All of them are strong and can battle inside despite being 5-11, 6-1 and 6-3. All of them pass well and look for their teammates. All of them have good touch inside and have the ability to shoot out to the 3 point line. Each of them have their own strengths, but no team has the horses to match up with them. Perhaps most importantly, each of them go 110% all of the time. They hustle for everything and maintain focus every single play. They badly outwork their opponent every time.

Other teams may matchup well on paper, but when it comes to getting loose balls, setting hard screens, cutting hard, and playing physical defense, no one matches up with Connecticut.

For a team like Notre Dame or Baylor to compete, they'll need dominant performances from their guards. Jones will need to have a huge night, and Ogunbowale needs to go off to have a chance. They also need better rebounding and hustle from their bigs. I could see both of these teams going undefeated the rest of the way and meeting in the Final Four with just 1 loss to UCONN.

I don't know when this started but for the last decade or so there has been a standing invitation for any coach & their staff to sit in on practices. I've lost count over the years of the UConn players who have noted that they looked forward to games because, "they're a hell of a lot easier than practice". If mythical UConn has a secret this is it. Practice not until you get it right but can't possibly get it wrong.

Auriemma loves to see his young women win but is sharp enough to know that having as many good teams on the floor as possible is good for the game. I don't think he's wrong in that but don't think all that many have taken him up on the offer. Kind of a shame, really.

DD and Russell would respond in the same way e.g. Nurse and Collier do to his teaching? The fact of the matter is that UCONN is just not for everyone. You need to recruit for the style and expectation of the team program.(if there is one -TN)

They used to say that Tennessee was not for everyone, because PS was tough and demanding. Fact is, any player who is ambitious and wants to realize her full potential would want to play for a demanding coach who knows how to win. So I've never bought the "it's not for everyone" meme. If you're talented, and you want to work and be your best, it's for you--and while most players are not talented enough for a major program, most players do want to fulfill their potential--and win.

UConn has the best frontcourt in the country with Samuelson, Collier and Williams.

I hate UConn but I love Basketball! Collier & Williams are ballers! Undersized for sure but brings it to whoever night in and night out, hate to say it but they might win another one
