Uconn is in trouble..

The most talented team this season is South Carolina. If they don't win the National title this season I don't think they will ever win one.

I agree 100%. We will learn a lot more about SC after the Louisville game tomorrow. I plan to watch that game.

Mompremier & Brown played a combined 41 minutes and between them, playing the same position, they took 8 shots. Since Kim really doesn't play them together much I'd say they had ample opportunity to "dominate".

Digging up dubious excuses for the Baylor loss? A better one would be the improbable performance of a certain freshman pg in her second college game.

Shame on you. Do not go throwing reality stuff at amb, that's totally unfair. He has his delusions of dominance, and they can't be undone at this point.

In the Bears' last two games against quality opponents in DePaul and OSU, poor shunt-her-to-the-side Davis has gone 11-15 to bring her season average back up to 51.6%, and so it looks like Kim is sensibly working out how to utilize the bigs and Nina together.

Would love to see at some point a match-up between Baylor and South Carolina, which did indeed look "mildly" impressive yesterday in the beatdown of the Cards, especially with the 77.4% FT shooting. And sure, getting to the FT line a lot really helps, but you still have to knock them down. An often overlooked fact about last year is that UConn was #1 in the nation in FT shooting at 80% while South Carolina was 258th at 66.6%, and only Baylor among the top teams was worse by a smidgen at 261st at 66.2%. South Carolina shot 57.1% in the S16 loss to Syracuse last year.

Tennessee was decent at 70.6% in FT% for last season, but when the tournament started the Vols went on a tear, knocking them down at 80% over the first three games through the S16 before falling back a bit to 68.4% in the E8 loss. The FTs and FT% were not a major reason for the loss to Syracuse, but it was definitely a factor in those first three wins.

As much as I hate UCONN, they have a good program and a good coach and good players and will always be a favorite. I'd say the same for Notre Dame, too. South Carolina has talent but their coach hasn't really won anything. They underachieved last year making it only to the sweet 16 after losing 1 game in the regular season and until they prove me wrong I won't be betting on them to win it all.

Coaches, like players, reach a point they can't advance anymore. Any coach that's been around more than a decade, unless they are still moving up, is probably all they will be. Sometimes people get lucky but that's not luck not something you can count on.

So do you think ND can beat Uconn? I guess we will find out tomorrow.

Doesn't really matter. I said ND is in good shape, too. Both always have a chance because they are well coached.

They will not win the NC. Sad to say. Dawn is an above average coach. However, not good enough to win a NC.

Yes, it looks like it may be UCONN in WB and Alabama in FB again this season. At least mens basketball and NFL is up for grabs this year.

Concerning UCONN, has any of his assistants been a head coach. Makes you wonder what kind of offer it would take to get one of the top assistants to make the jump to head coaching.

Tanya Cardoza at Temple and Jamelle Elliott (forgot where). Jen Rizotti is HC at Hartford, but I don't know if she was ever an assistant for Geno.

UConn assistants tend to stay put. Elliott was an asst for 12 years and Cardoza for 14. Salary and team budget is probably a big reason they hang around. Ralph's salary in 2014 was 215K. 30 year associate head coach Chris Dailey's salary was listed at $314K last year.

Rizzotti left Harford after a mediocre 17 years as the head coach. She's having a good 1st year at Georgetown.

UConn has the best frontcourt in the country with Samuelson, Collier and Williams.
