uconn schedule

No matter how great UCONN is, they are still in a piece of crap conference. Their Tournament Championship Game was played against an unranked team.

Referencing ranked teams they played in the PAST does not negate the putridness of the conference they CURRENTLY play in.

No, but it does show that it doesn't matter if they are in a strong or weak conference. They still win, and they win big.

I am not gonna take a shot at UConn..... because they seem to have a good program with a good staff..... and players who buy in.....

Do they play in a terrible conference? Of course they do..... and they have advantage of resting their better players any time they want..... on the flip side of that argument.... i seldom see players hustle like they do..... no matter the competition.....

If they crap out in NCAAs, then the hypothesis put forth by many here will be true..... they need to schedule better competition..... my thinking is that they are too strong this year.

USF is 26th in the dubious AP poll.

Massey ranks them 15th
Sagarin ranks them 14th
Sonny Moore has them at 11th

They may not be a household name with a history like Georgia, LSU or Vandi but they are a better team this year than those 3. They have scored the 2nd and third most points on UConn this year.

And they managed to beat Chattanooga this year at Chattanooga. :)

You are trying, in a Futile manner, to justify a horrendous conference by making an Unranked team a ranked team.

That malodorous conference has one ranked team.

I think i have a pretty good reason why UConn is so good.First of all look at the weak conference they are in. No wonder they blow right thru there schedule and defeat them by more than 40 or 50 points. Dont get me wrong they have great players but this conference is nothing but scrimmage games, and then when they do play a formable foe they  play outstanding because of all the "practice games" they endure. I say put them in the SEC where the bottom tier is better than the second place team in their league.

Let's not forget that UCONN did play in a major confrence in the Big East the move to the American conference has only been two years. Regardless of what confrence they play in they will dominate. UCONN beat the best team in the SEC and the best team in the ACC by 20+ points. The conference has nothing to do with UCONN success, credit the coaching staff & the players. There is a huge gap between UCONN & the rest of the country no one even comes close to them.

UCONN probably played their hardest game today playing USF in which they won by 14 points. It's not who you play it's how you play.

No one on this board is disputing that Ucon is probably the best team in the land. That is not what is in dispute.

People are trying to make the terrible AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE, and Ucon's schedule, to seem better that it actually is.

Perhaps they should've played their hardest against Stanford earlier this year?

That's only true if you think that the AP poll is the best measuring tool. You obviously do. I don't. here's why:

Too many teams get high preseason rankings based on their name. Take Georgia. They got a preseason ranking of 22 and then went 11-0 playing teams much worse than those in the AAC. That got them up to 14th. From there, their SEC schedule started and they slowly slipped down to 22 despite going 5-10. And finally they dropped off the rankings Fact is they sucked and should never have been ranked at all. But all the teams that beat them on their way down the ladder take credit for a top 25 win. In the meantime teams that beat GW, Seton Hall, NW and FGC during the early and mid-year portions of the season got no credit. That's why I think wins over top 25 teams is a dubious stat.

And if this is what people are saying here..... they absolutely are incorrect.... UConn schedule weak, and the conference is ridiculously bad...... will it improve? Of course, it cannot help but improve.... but nobody can defend it this year.

Where were you guys when UConn beat St Johns by 16? Why because they played a subpar game today, in front of thousands, more hate came out? As a SC fan, I admire what Geno is doing in Storrs. Being able to convinced top players year after year to put up with freezing temps for 4 years isn't easy. There's a standard at UConn that is unmatched. Geno is greatest and he stands at the top alone. :bow2:

The fact that people argue that the SEC is the best conference in womens basketball that hasn't seen a team in the final four since 08 when Tennessee & LSU made it & the fact that UCONN has made it every year since then says conference or not SAYS ALOT!!!!!!!

UConn is a four-letter word in these parts.
Now go wash your mouth out with Lifebuoy.

They play in a crappy conference, ESPN dotes on them, Geno doesn't always tuck his shirt-tail in blah blah.

Just say what's really on your mind ("God in heaven PLEASE don't put us in their bracket")

The fact that Tennessee and UConn haven't played each other in 8 years and they're still popping up on a Tenn Board everyday says enough. I know its hard to be on the outside looking in when you were once at the top, but its UConn vs the World now. Geno owned the Big East at one point, so lets not get carried away with the new Conference. He was winning Titles in the BE as well.

Its still the same UConn that holds a 13-9 edge over Tenn and the same UConn that denied PS at least 3-4 Titles. I appreciate great Bball and you should too. Move over Tennessee, there's a new Sheriff in town. #Staley

I wouldn't get carried away with the new sheriff bit just yet. There have been others in the past that thought they were the next big thing but they fell back after some time. I'm not saying Dawn will fall back but one year does not a dynasty make. The Lady Vols aren't done this year and next year could be real interesting. Contrary to what many think about the championship game, we were there till late in the game and that was without our BIG 3 doing their normal thing. I will give some credit to USC's defense but we missed a ton of open shots that we normally make. If we had hit the ones we usually do, you may not be crowing so loudly. GO LADY VOLS!!!

When next year gets here, I'll address it. Looking good on paper doesnt meant it will translate on the Court.

These NEW South Carolina fans are amusing! "New Sheriff in town".....please save us the antics! At one point GA, LSU, and even Aubrun at one point in their "Bonner" era all thought the same thing!

No lie, I'm impressed with what Dawn has done but please.....you're not there just yet with only ONE SEC tournament Championship, when we have 17.

LSU won 3 regular season titles in 4 years in 2005-2008 and YET were still here. Talk to me when that happens bro....

South Carolina fans...the arrogance of Alabama, the trophy case of Vanderbilt.

If the SEC had thought it through clearly we would have offered Clemson back in 1990 instead.
