UConn series continuing?

Terrible idea. Nobody wants to hear this, but Kellie isn't beating UConn as long as Geno is coaching. I wish it weren't the case, but it just isn't happening.

There are lots of other elite nonconference teams to choose from, most of which the Lady Vols have been playing since discontinuing the UConn series...

Calm down guys, this Isn't politics. If she wants to play them she have my support. There's no forgiveness in America, someone do wrong just kill the person and never look back. Kellie seems to forgive, I am with her.

UConn needs to play SEC teams more than SEC teams need to play UConn. Winning games in the SEC insures a good SOS.

UConn has switched so many times I couldn't tell you what conference they're in.

Somehow history seems to disagree with you. UC has been in ...what? 12 or 13 consecutive final fours. All without the benefit of scheduling many SEC teams. Their OOC rivals routinely include Maryland, Louisville, Baylor, ND, Stanford, and Oregon. Their SOS appears to have been, shall we say, adequate.

Conference switches have, in recent memory, totalled two: when the old Big East disintegrated, they moved to the AAC, then this year to the newly reconstituted Big East. Even a chicken should be able to count to two.

Sure, they often schedule Lower Carolina. No surprise, as Auriemma and Staley are buddies and share mutual respect.

So if they beat Tennessee and South Carolina can they put up a banner for winning the SEC?

You can’t count to two? Big East, AAC and now Big East.

Geno is in -

"Not everybody likes to play really good teams," Auriemma said. "So the fact that Kellie wants to do that is a great thing, and it says a lot about Kellie. So, yeah, is it possible that we would play Tennessee either next year or the year after, whenever schedule-wise, it works for both of us? Yeah, it's really possible.

"It takes two people that want to do it. I'm always up for playing anybody, anywhere, anytime. If Kellie's up for it, I'm sure it will happen. And you could be sure even more it will happen because of how few people really want to play in those games."

"If you guys are nice to me, I'll come back down and you can yell at me all that you want," he said, laughing. "But be nice to me this time."

In Pat's time, we played literally everybody who was somebody at their place and ours. Before Uconn was UCONN, we played them, and if we're honest, help give birth to their dynasty. You don't become the best by running from the best. There exists no reality where UCONN and TENN avoids each other and it's good for basketball, period. I think we all can appreciate Pat's decision to end the series, she had the stature and capacity to do so, but I believe its way past time to bring the series back, No, it wont be the same, but I believe will eventually be, if and when we do our part, be the preeminent and defining game in college basketball. Rebecca Lobo was right, there is only one game that the average joe shmoo wants to see in the world of women's basketball, UCONN vs TENN. If we want the marque program changing players that make you a championship contender, aka Candice Parker, we need the stage this game provides, and more importantly, we need to stop the bloodletting against them and start beating them consistently.

Problem is a loss or two in a lesser conference can be devastating. Lose a game in the tough SEC and a team won't fall that far.

UConn is currently ranked #1 in NET Lady Vols #19
Net is based on two factors
1) Team Value Index (TVI), which is a result-based feature that rewards teams for beating quality opponents, particularly away from home, 2) adjusted net efficiency rating.

The top 20:

South Carolina
Oregon
Louisville
Baylor
NC State
Indiana

I have no idea. but I'm not saying it. The NCAA is and NET is how all teams will be ranked in the National. This year there will be no regional bias and all team will be seeded on an 'S' curve according to NET ranking.

How they have the top Net Average seems ridiculous . They haven't played anyone worth noting not even a Top 15 team. That tells me how trash that system is.

To be fair, UCONN always has one of the highest massey rated schedules, I just looked and it is number one. People are usually not impressed with a conference as much as they are with a team and how they play. Regardless of the conference, they play one of the most difficult schedules. Like Pat did when she would coach. Fear no one. but respect your opponent

It's not just what top teams you play, it's what bottom teams you don't play.

RealtimeRPI has UConn with the 53rd SOS and Tennessee with the 79th SOS. Tennessee played more top rated teams but also played several really low rated teams.

It's just the way it works.
