They said that Tennessee needs to apologize for what they said about Gino. if we want to keep playing. its on the boneyard unconn board. forum on their talking tenn vs unconn

He said that sarcastically at the end of the Butler post-game presser. Reporters ask stupid questions, they get snarky Geno answers.

Looks like Geno likes "being near" Coach Kellie....Anyone up for some pool?

Regardless of the two-game losing streak to UConn, you can't say that this series isn't compelling. I understand Geno's general bravado, but I think him pretending that the Tennessee game isn't a "big deal" is a total joke; I get that it might not have sold out in Hartford last year, but that'll change once Tennessee comes back to form.

Largest game attendance at a CoVID era game...

He confirmed your feeling when he left his star recruit who runs his offense in the game after she was visibly injured and in pain.

Hopefully, nothing serious...but he didn't know that. This after accusing Warlick of playing Westbrook while injured. We see where his priorities lie.

And just as an FYI to him...You didn't "catch" Pat Summitt in wins. You just managed to outlive her.

Is Bueckers the real deal? Quiet for much of the game but was it because she hasn't played against a good D like Tenn?

She’s the real deal but she had a hard time with our defense last night. This was her first true experience with length and solid D. She cannot finish those moves in the paint she likes to make against size. She shot a bunch of short shots into our players hands and rushed a lot of them trying to get it off quicker.

Still rebounded and passed the ball well but she was a non-factor in the scoring column most of the night. Mentally she was in it all the way though. That’s what killed us. Mentally our PG did not enter the building last night.

It wasn’t just a poor shooting night for UCONN either, we forced them into a lot of tough shots. Made a lot of their players take shots they didn’t want to. ONO took 4 threes and had only taken 2 all season before last night. I think you all will beat this team handily, they’ll have no answer for Boston and Bueckers will not be able to score over Beal.

According to the Boneyard she's a "generational player" who will win multiple AA awards. They're already comparing her "legendary" shot on a turned ankle to Willis Reed's returning to play in game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals. Wow...and here we were told that we don't even have a rivalry any more and that this game was no big deal. 😆

Bueckers is good and they couldn't have won without her 7 assists and 8 rebounds (they likely would still have won without her last shot. After all, even some of their fans are insisting that "Tennessee tried to give us tge game for most of the fourth quarter until they finally succeeded." But her pkay was solid and she still hit 9 points.

We've given Bueckers the credit she's due and suggested that Horston take note if Horston wants to live up to her #2 billing. But she never hurt us the way freshman Taurasi hurt us. Bueckers is a great facilitator. But she"s not a game-changer like Stewart.

I think that Bueckers is trending to more of a Sue Bird-type player vs. Taurasi. She won't take over the games by being a scoring machine, but she'll fill up a stat sheet. If Fudd is as good of a scorer as her hype, they will be a deadly backcourt.

I agree. According to Auriemma she has told him that she would rather assist than score. That's a Bird mentality. I've heard Auriemma say that he is on her case to shoot more. According to him she is "a great shooter."

Glad you said, "trending". She's a freshman with 9 or 10 games in her college career so far. Her coach is trying to change her 'pass first' habit to one with more shooting. Time will tell what she ends up being. Whether the style is Bird or Taurasi or something in between, she will be a major contributor.

It's early, but you can tell from watching her that she's not your typical freshman. She's just such a smooth player. Even in a game like last night where her shot was falling, she never lost composure and was mentally in it from start to finish. She's going to be a great player for sure, and a pain in the butt for opposing guards. I haven't seen Clark play yet, but I'm itching to catch an Iowa game so I can compare them.

Clark is another exceptional young player. Comparing them by points scored isn't meaningful, as Clark shoots much more. She is one of, if not the primary offensive weapon for Iowa. UConn's offense normally prevents any one player from dominating the scoring.

Not just scoring, but overall game. FOY will probably come down to one of them, so I like to see the horses in the running.
