UF Staff Update Thread

This can't help UF with recruiting going so long without any DC/ OC?

I think he will have to start making moves before bowl season ends.

What about DC? any info on who CWM is looking at there?

Sunseri would be okay. Like I said before, Muschamp will be the real DC. Last year, UT fans heard the rumor of Smart to DC but he had no interest. Then came the Sunseri rumors and they weren't well received at all. He could work out at UF, though he is a little older than the other candidates that have been rumored. He's a decent recruiter, but anyone can recruit at UF successfully. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin Steele's name pop up. Dude loves working Clemson for a raise and he isn't afraid to throw his name into the rumor mill to do so.

Does CWM have pressure to make "big splash" hires given he hasn't coached as a HC before? Or can he also hire assistants as DC and OC who haven't served as coordinators before?

dull? I know its Bobby P's offense but Mcgee would be a great hire imo. I like the idea of Jedd Fisch because he's spent time under Bates/Carrol...Cam Cameron in B'more and Josh McDaniels in NE the guys is going to be a great OC. Plus he's a UF grad so I think he'll get a good look.

Would be bizarre seeing legit WCO @ UF. Fisch better try and dumb it down though.

Petrino makes Petrino's offense run. McGee has only been there one season.

Couldn't tell you anything about Pelt.

Borges would be a great hire, dude has had some good offenses, and SDSU is a few points from being a 1 loss/undefeated team. He runs a heavily simplified WCO variant.

Shula would be a step in the right direction. For all his troubles at Alabama, he has a good offensive mind.

I like Loeffler, even though many at UF don't. I think he did just fine at UM.

Riley would be the Leach/Hatcher direction many have been talking about recently.

Van Pelt would actually be a great hire,,, was at Buffalo Bills for years before coming to Tampa Bay to help out with Josh Freeman. The current OC there Greg Olsen was with Chaney at Purdue and ,,I believe Olsen was the QB coach there with Brees. The offense at Tampa has been very aggressive the past two years.

I forgot that he only until recently played himself.

Olson worked with another good offensive mind, Scott Linehan in St. Louis.

Who is UF looking at as their main recruiting guys (i.e. Thompson for TN, C. Gardner at UGA, Trooper Taylor at AU). who will fill that role under the new staff at UF?

Right now I would say it is our TE's coach Brian White who many want to stay on for this very reason. He recruited all of the guys in California last year that we ended up with. I believe we will make a run at Bo Davis at Bama but I don't know if he will leave. Aubrey Hill was retained at Miami and I believe we may have made a run at him. I have even heard Thompson's name thrown out but I don't see him leaving TN.

If Wilcox goes, TN may be compteting with UF for Defensive staff. Any more info on who UF is targeting on that side of the ball?
