UFC Thread

I think Hendo would have been more likely to have the fight called in the first round if he hadn't been rocked with like 10 seconds left. Had there been a minute, I think Herb Dean would have called it.

The first fight of the night was called ridiculously early.

You're probably right.

I just can't catch a break in sports when it comes to my favorite teams. Or in this case, fighters.

Carwin's loss to Lesnar and then he retires because of his back. Now, Shogun has bum knees, loses to someone like Chael and now, even when it seems he has some one finished... doesn't get the call. Disappointing to say the least.

I actually came here based on watching videos on youtube. Some of which are old...

I feel like the only thing Rogan got wrong was MMA swallowing boxing in 5 years. He was right about pretty much everything else though. But then, you have some dummy arguing in the comment section from just a few days ago about how UFC has less stars today than 2008 and boxing has many. All I can think of is Floyd Mayweather. After Manny's loss by poor judging, I don't hear anything about him anymore. And I'd say Klitchko(s) is a star but there is nobody to fight except each other.

The guy arguing with Rogan really annoyed me though how he frowned upon MMA and saying only white people care about it. Weird, seeing as it's an international sport. Pretty sure I've seen everyone from Canada to Brazil going nuts over it during shows. Then he claims Joe Rogan is only talking good about other MMA companies because UFC owns them. Dude has no clue what he's talking about. He also tries telling Rogan he's not a boxing fan even though Rogan just got done explaining he is.

Anyways... I've been out of it a bit but seeing this dude alone makes me want to give a crap again because I personally do think boxing sucks and have enjoyed MMA for over half a decade. Boxing isn't a real fight, unless you include Tyson biting Holyfield's ear off. That's a real fight. MMA doesn't allow that but biting people and groin shots are about all they don't allow. Kicking downed opponents. Other than that, it's on. If you really wanted to, I bet you could twist someone's nipple off. I'm not saying that's what I want to see or why I watch the fights. But yeah, it takes more talent to be an MMA fighter than a boxer. You have to know many forms of fighting. It's about the closest you're gonna get to fighting in a regulated sport. If you want to see a real fight... stabbing people with broken bottles would be allowed. I'll pass on that.

Welcome back to the thread TOP. I may twist your nipple off now. Lol I do miss soccer kicks from Pride days. I also remember an early UFC 3 or 4 i think, where i think Kimo got punched in the groin like 20 times. Lol

I don't know how i feel about B.J. Penns return, my favorite fighter by far, but i hate seeing legends hang around. At 145 too, I'm torn.

Maybe he'll have a Couture like go at it. I have a friend from Hawai'i who puts holes in his walls when Penn loses. I don't think he can take a comeback.

Last night Brock ended The Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak, 21-1 now. Most of you won't care but it involved Brock so i put it here anyways. One of the 2 most shock wrestling moments ever, #1 imo.

Maybe but he is 1-4-1 his last 6 fights, as much as i love BJ I wish he would stay retired.
