Let's be real about the booking of the Bones-Chael fight. Unless Bones wanted to fight a catchweight bout against a HW, his next fight was not going to be appealing to a lot of MMA fans. Hendo-Machida was already scheduled, and they were probably the two most deserving. Bones has already dismantled Rashad, Bader, and Shogun. Gustafsson's win over Shogun was his first against a top-notch LHW, so he needs at least 1 and possibly 2 more fights of that caliber before you would consider him ready for a title shot. Glover will be a contender soon, but he's only had 2 UFC fights. They were in a bad spot.

You can lose a #1 contenders bout and still get a title shot. Ask Nick Diaz.
TOP, I get your frustration, but I honestly think placing all the blame on Dana is unfair. Chael volunteered to fight Jones on 3 weeks notice. I'm sure Dana promised him a favorable booking in the future after he made the effort to help save that card. But even that really isn't the issue. Dana has thousands of fans on twitter and msg. boards that were clamoring for him to book the Bones-Chael fight. Knowing that he needed blockbuster coaches for the upcoming season of TUF, he saw an oppurtunity that was too good to pass up.
At the end of the day, the UFC is a business just like anything else. Not only that, but their business is largely dependent on PPV buys. That leads to the UFC being somewhat handcuffed sometimes when it comes to booking fights.
Give him the fight, but don't make it a title fight. Just because he wants the fight doesn't mean he should get it. Every fighter out there wants a title shot, that doesn't mean they will get it. Belfort called out Jones and Dana and wants a title shot, lets see if he gets it
Diaz is getting a shot because that fight with GSP 1,000x more marketable than one with Hendricks. Hendricks is still young and up and coming. He'll get his shot.
The UFC is a business and White runs it like one. What's the problem?
