With all the turnover lately, I think it would be fun to do a P4P Top 10 of active fighters right now. I would exempt GSP, Anderson, and Cruz. Mine would be:

1. Jon Jones
2. Cain Velasquez
3. Jose Aldo
4. Renan Barao
5. Chris Weidman
6. Alexander Gustafsson
7. Johny Hendricks
8. Anthony Pettis
9. Demetrious Johnson
10. Benson Henderson

I have the same 10 with a little variation. As much as I don't like Mighty Mouse he's been on a bit of a tear.

1. Jon Jones
2. Jose Aldo
3. Cain Velasquez
4. Demetrius Johnson
5. Renan Barao
6. Chris Weidman
7. Anthony Pettis
8. Alexander Gustaffson
9. Johnny Hendricks
10. Benson Henderson

I'm the same way with DJ. I wouldn't have had him in the Top 10 before his last fight with Benavidez, which was his most impressive win to date. The Flyweight division is weak, though. That's why I don't have him higher. I think he'll get to prove his worth in the near future, because I think he'll have to fight some Bantamweights just to stay active.

Good points. My thing with DJ is he doesnt lose and is rarely in a bad position. I wanted to put Pettis higher because I'm such a big fan, he definitely is top 5 as far as being good anywhere. IMO

I agree with this. Depends on what Bendo does against Thomson Saturday too. It's weird doing a list with no Silva and GSP btw.

If Pettis ever gets that fight with Aldo and wins, that would probably cement him the Top 5 for a long time. I would have put him higher, but that loss to Guida wasn't that long ago, and that L is kind of inexplicable.

It's definitely odd. Honestly, I think GSP saw the writing on the wall. Condit gave him all he wanted and Hendricks beat him in most people's opinion. He wanted to go out while he was still on top because he was already on borrowed time. If Anderson wasn't out with injury, I would probably still have him in my Top 10. I just think Weidman is that one opponent that gives him fits.

Thats why I didn't put him higher, the Guida fight was confusing. Matter of fact both of his loses are head scratchers. Palaszewski though a split decision, shouldn't have happened either. If he beat Aldo I'd jump him to 3-4.

I agree with Silva, some guys are just bad match ups. Personally I think GSP walking away because guys were catching up hurts his legacy.

Anthony "Rumble" Johnson has looked good since his move to LHW 4-0. Finally fighting in his more natural weight class
