Saying "it doesn't matter" doesn't really qualify as a point imo. You're basically doing this...

Yes it does, when you say you have the top class four years in a row, so that alone is good enough to win in the SEC this year, that doesn't matter. A lot of those guys are no longer in the program, your number one classes therefore do not have the same meaning as they would had the bigger names of those classes not left early. Anthony Davis, MKG, Brandon Knight, Enes Kanter, DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, etc. are not playing for Kentucky this year, but these guys are the reason UK had the #1 class for four years in a row.

This is really not a hard concept to grasp.

It is about like a Vol fan saying that our running back situation is looking good because we signed the #1 RB in the country in 2009.

Read the context and maybe you'll understand.

"That alone is good enough to win the SEC in any given year."

Sadly, it's true.

Then whats your point?

Here's the point:

UK's roster last year 10 scholarship players.

Minus 7 leaving

Add 4 incoming freshman.

Add 1 eligible transfer.

Equals...8 scholarship players.

Out of those 8...

4 true freshman
1 former walk on
1 redshirt sophomore transfer
1 senior who's a 3 year bench warmer
1 sophomore who can shoot but can't play D

When they are not there you are still playing with one number one class. They are not accumulating like Alabama has been doing with their football classes.

And yes, I agree. Just one number one class CAN be good enough to win, I have seen it happen. But let's not kid ourselves, next year's UK team is not going to be the accumulation of four top classes.

Exactly look at the breakdown above of their current roster. Nothing all that impressive right now IMO.

They are very very thin. 1 injury they're screwed.

Worked in the past 3 years. Freshmen are what Cal is used to. I hope it (success) continues. I doubt we'll ever see another team like last years at UK.

Let's play that game.

IF
Noel gets hurt...Cauly.
Cauly gets hurt...Noel.
Harrow...Beckham? Goodwinn? Not sure right here.
Bennet/Jefferson-Noel,Cauly,Bennet/Jefferson (if we get both...which i doubt).

Wjiter and Hood will sub in randomly.

You could say the same for a lot of teams.

Lmao are you new to calipari???

Please go review the last 5 years then return to me your findings.

Last year alone he has 2 seniors, 2 2 year starting sophomores....how the hell is that comparable to next year?

Next year appears to be a transfer PG, and 4 freshman in the starting 5. Followed with a former walk on back up PG, a 3 year benchwarmer, and a good shooter that can't play D. Please find me a calipari team that resembles that in the past?

He always has a few upperclassmen with experience. Liggins, Stevenson, Patterson, miller, Harrelson and going to Memphis he had the same there.

You seriously must not understand basketball.

Noels gets hurt and you're fine?lmao

You don't have Bennett or Jefferson so stop assuming you do. Let's play like you have 1 though. That's Noels, Jefferson and Cauley at the 4/5.

Noel's gets hurt and that leaves you 2 guys for 2 positions for 40 minutes a game, that's logical.

Please play Wiltjer and Hood at the 4, the SEC will have a field day against those 2 in the post.

Same situation as last year lmao.

Wjiter subbed in for somebody playing the 4, but played more like a small gaurd with bigger size. And if you remember, Hood was hurt all last year, that clearly took depth away last year.

And seriously, what are the odds Noel gets hurt (barring any lame attempts by UT haters lulz).

You had 4 legitimate post players; Davis jones Miller Vargas.

If you can't admit that I'm sorry.

I guarantee the other UK posters on here agree miller played the 4 last year.
