UF's Beal headed to the NBA

Just catching up on this thread:

This was completely expected. I've seen Beal as high as 3rd in the draft, and it would be a strange decision to come back. He'll be tough to replace, but we'll be fine. Casey Prather is extremely athletic and could get more playing time. Rosario could play more in three-guard sets. If Bennett does come to Florida, then he'll play a lot of SF.

Kentucky won't dominate the SEC next year. The #1 recruiting class is NOT enough to dominate the conference. Remember 2011, anyone? Yes, Kentucky went to the Final Four and had a great season, but they didn't dominate the SEC under any circumstance. That team had more upperclassman than this Kentucky team will have, with Miller and Harrleson.

Alabama should be good next season. They still have Trevor Releford, Levi Randolph, Trevor Lacey, Andrew Steele, and Rodney Cooper in the backcourt. In their frontcourt, they have to replace Green, but they'll be fine. Nick Jacobs showed that he could be very good on offense in the low post this season. Moussa Gueye has an enormous ceiling, but he was extremely raw, and dealing with a torn ACL didn't help. They could very well add Devonta Pollard, who seems to be down to them and Georgetown. If he goes there, they could jump into a lot of Top 25s. People having them as a probable tournament team isn't really what I would call hype, though. Lol.

Because the recruiting class at UK is dog****, huh? It's the #1 class for the 4th year in a row. That alone is good enough to win the SEC in any given year.

You might want to hold your breath until rosters are finalized. Cal still has to buy a few players to fill it out, call in some favors from WWW and Jay-Z.

Some people never learn from history.

You are correct sir. Too bad it's kentucky fans who don't understand the world existed before 1930.

I don't care about SEC play - I want to:

1. Win every game at home
2. Beat traditional rivals (UofL/UNC/Duke/IU)
3. Play well enough to get a bye in the SECT
4. Make a deep run in the NCAAT

Here's the point:

UK's roster last year 10 scholarship players.

Minus 7 leaving

Add 4 incoming freshman.

Add 1 eligible transfer.

Equals...8 scholarship players.

Out of those 8...

4 true freshman
1 former walk on
1 redshirt sophomore transfer
1 senior who's a 3 year bench warmer
1 sophomore who can shoot but can't play D

Ok, well let’s be clear this is worst case scenario, they could keep one of the 7 you have declared are gone they are also not done with 2012 class – that said I have faith in Cal’s ability to coach and get the kids in shape for the season. 2011 team was not a great team in the regular season – lost to Ole Miss, Vandy Florida…and still were a good enough team to beat the overall number 1 seed and UNC to make their 15th final four. If we lose in the regular season to teams we’re better than I’m OK with it, this program isn’t about the regular season.

You do realize that Calipari was not accused of anything at Memphis, right? I mean, if you're going to link articles, they might as well be relevant.

Try this.

Go to the military. Have a general. Have his immediate subordinate get caught for treason. Guess what's gonna happen to that general?

Same situation. You can "say" that Cal was accused of nothing. That's like saying Michael jackson wasn't accused of child molestation. The entire world knows he is shady, just his connections with WWW make him shady, but the fact he's the only person to have two final fours vacated? His ship. His wins go away. Wait a few years for KY to have theirs gone too and go troll your own forums.
