UGA is last in the SEC in sacks

How is that even possible, against who they’ve played so far?? Are they scared to sack the opponent??

I don't think they're as good as people think they are. They're the OSU of the SEC, their schedule has been crap, and the one time they were truly tested they almost lost. If Mizzou had enough offense, they would've beat them. We do have the offense, and our defense is just good enough to get some stops. We'll get to their QB more than they'll get to Hooker.

Tennessee has been sacked a total of 13 times this season by comparison.

We are higher in sacks because other teams are having to pass to keep up. UGA controls the game with quick passes to the flat and over the middle to TE’s and a fantastic run game. I’ll be interest to see how we scheme our defense.

To play devils advocate, I'm assuming that Georgia's opponents are getting less plays and so that means less opportunities for sacks?

Interesting. I wonder how many pass plays vs us they've defended? Plus, our scheme is more balls to the wall attack by nature, which should skew it a little too.

By comparison, Will Anderson has 6, so almost as many as their entire team.

If the OL can handle Bama's rush, they can handle anyone's.

I was really surprised that Bama stayed conventional and hardly blitzed. After so many 3rd degree burns, I was waiting for them to bring extras. Never really happened. Our OL just absorbed their pass rush.

It's a weird year for defense when the top two leaders in sacks both have defenses that aren't very good. Either that or QBs are just so good now that pressure doesn't matter as much as it used to.

I think we see the same game plan from Kirby. Send 3 and drop 8 and make us run the ball. Slow the game down, limit down field opportunities, make the O earn every yard and point.

I think it is super seniors on the OL. They continued taking all the pass rushers, but journeymen oline and QB's like Hooker are taking advantage. The numbers are down all across the league. There is a story there somewhere.

Nah I think we see the Pitt model. Bring the house repeatedly and make Hooker uncomfortable.
