UGA school paper takes shot at Fulmer.....

Seriously? Quinton Moses + Charles Johnson
Our tackles are not our problem on our offensive line. It is our guards and centers. Good DEs do not scare me. It is good DTs (LSU) that can put a halt to our offense.

that's pretty tame as far as school-based newspaper articles go.

Who cares? We have plenty more to worry about this week than what some kid -- who was too busy playing pocket-pool and kick the can to notice us beating Georgia up for years (8, was it?) in a row -- has to write for the Journal Club.

Yeah whatever. You still shouldn't be allowed to have tents and grills in the parking garage.

Just messing. Sorry couldn't resist.:)

Glad you think that's funny. There are plenty of us who, quite simply, do not. . . .including the VASF.

At least we'll enjoy ourselves in Athens this weekend.

It doesn't matter who we think will win, so this is all just for kicks. Having said that, I have to say I think it is mighty wishful to start projecting some easy win for TN. I think we'll win, but I'm not real sure about it.

This game reminds of those BAMA games for a long time where we had better talent on paper but kept losing on grass. Sometimes it takes a little something extra to break free of these mental barriers that I think exists; primarily because TN got used to losing and the coaches would make excuses why.

Not trying to piss you off, just yanking the good ol' chain a little bit. I think it is still bad how they are doing y'all.:peace2:

I'm still wondering how there are this many Vol fans that are SO confident about the game this weekend??!!!

The paper kid is right...some uga nobody comes out of the woodwork against us every year.
In the 90's, we couldn't beat Bama no matter how much better our team was. It now, unfortunately, seems that Georgia has our number.

Don't get me wrong, nothing would make this Ga VOL happier than a big win this weekend, but let's not count our chickens before they hatch (our or touchdowns before they're scored).

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems tame to me, hardly bulletin board material. Fulmer has a losing record against Richt. Until that changes get used to it.

Are we actually debating the merits of something written in a college newspaper?

I think it's good to temper the confidence, but I also think it's a little desperate for UGA fans to use the "Don't worry, somebody will step up" argument.

BTW - We wore out Bama in the mid to late 90s.

I think the reason we seem to fall short against many of these teams that seem to have our number, IMO, is that we tend to play not to lose instead of playing kick-butt-and -take-names football. We seem to play so conservatively against the big rivals. Like the Florida game. We kept on trying to establish a run game and it was not working. Overwhelm them with what works and dare them to stop it. We should have gone to a short passing game and we would have destroyed Florida.

I sure hope that we learned from the FL game that when your on top to keep going with whats working. I know I will get flamed for this , but I think thats the reason we havent seen more championships under Fulmer. We take the lead and then quit. We go into run, run, pass , punt mode. Leaving our defense on the field too much late in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

I agree 100%. We always seem to get a 10-14 point lead and then just try to run out the clock. I've never understood that myself.... We've lost a few games in the past because of that..

Well, the Vols drilled Memphis. I have a feeling if the Vols can put up 41 on Georgia, they're going to do it.

I'm not as disturbed by anything in this student run hackjob except his discussion of how the Mets have ended the Braves "reign of terror".

How does the sports editor for the University of GEORGIA's newspaper allow this smut to be printed?

That attack on the Braves was the most accurate comment in the article.
