If you are going to reference Constitutional Amendments...

If you want to address state law as it applies to what does and does not constitute a "school zone", and what specific laws apply therein...

FYI, "living" within a school zone does not in any way modify the laws that apply to same. At least not in the State of Georgia...

If might help...no, make that "it would help immensely" if you had the beginning of the dawn of a clue as to what you were actually talking about.

Otherwise, we might mistake you for an idiot, or a troll, or both.

How? He consented to a search. That's not an unreasonable search.

Losing Crowell hurts Georgia's projected offensive scheme, no doubt.

So I look for them to try to adapt by using Aaron Murray and the RB / TE / WR's in 3-step short passes, screens, and taking their game to the air more in search of that magic 4 YPP average. While they try to replace what Crowell brought to their ground game.

Think about where UT went once they realized that Tauren Poole and/or the OL was not scaring anyone.

And Georgia does have a very talented QB, and a couple of very talented WR's. Not sure about the TE position, or the backs behind Crowell. But I don't expect the UGA staff to concede that their offense will be less dangerous without Crowell.

We cannot take UGA lightly. Especially this year, and especially in Athens.

I'm pretty the school zone in question is the campus. He had a weapon on campus, which is apparently illegal.

It's a unlicensed fire arm on a government funded property. It's a felony. Could be dropped but it'd be pointless to drop it, If the story is true.

The big issue here is a pistol with an altered / removed serial number. That's a felony anywhere. There's a reason why you own a gun with a filed off S/N, or have one in your possession. Such a weapon only has one purpose: to be untraceable.

Not something your average, clean-cut, college athlete has on his "must have" list.

I'm not defending him, I was responding to the crazy guy who seems to think that since it's summer time, it's cool to have a loaded handgun on school property.

Which goes back to my comment, both Crowell and his future victim should be glad that he was arrested today.

that's constitutional

right

was he carrying it?

it was in his car

what if in his house? you know under the foundation,,,]

what if , what if...heres you one. what if he didnt have the gun period ? it was in his car so that made it his.he probably wishes the gun was under a foundation some place.

I'll guarantee you that the gun in question moved from it's original location, at least once, when they realized they were approaching a checkpoint.

The burden of proof is on the State, which must prove...beyond reasonable doubt (you know the drill)...that Crowell owned or had actual (constructive) possession of the gun.

That might be a heavy lift in a car with 4 occupants. Then again, it might be a solid arrest. All I know is what I've read. There might be more.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, but I have to believe that Mark Richt doesn't dismiss Crowell if he believes, or even thinks, that the gun belonged to someone else.

All being speculation.
