Uga VII, Georgia's beloved bulldog mascot, dies - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN
I hate Georgia, but that sucks.
I hate Georgia, but that sucks.
Uga VII, the University of Georgia football mascot, has died.
The university's sports information department has confirmed the mascot's death, according to Scout.com's Georgia web site, DawgPost.com. The cause of death was a heart attack, according to one published report.
Uga VII is an English bulldog, the latest in a line of solid-white bulldogs that have served as Georgia's football mascot since 1956.
Uga VII's first game was on Aug. 30, 2008 when Georgia faced Georgia Southern. That game was just two months after the previous University of Georgia mascot, Uga VI, died.
The Bulldogs went 16-7 during Uga VII's tenure, the shortest tenure of anyone in the Uga family.
