UK is a night game, but why?

Tennessee has another night game coming up against UK. Does anyone know why UT keeps getting night games? Is this the 6th late kickoff this season?
It was announced in June that both the Kentucky and Miss State games will be at night, so nobody should be surprised. Specific kick times are announced 12 days out.

The playoff games will be at night so it’s good that they get accustomed to it 😉

I’m not sure what you mean by -5hrs but I live in Tokyo and we’re 13 hours ahead of Eastern time. It was nice because I slept through the first half of the Alabama game (it started at 4:30am on Sunday for me). Saturdays are a bummer though without any football.

You do understand that better teams get more night games don’t you? 6-7 noon games means your team isn’t very good.

The vols draw huge tv ratings. The viewership peak for vols-bama was actually higher than UTjr and Georgia. Doubt we get a noon game for the remainder of the year.

What would the traditionalists think if we made the checkering of the stadium orange and black and the same for the end zones?
Would a lot of blue hairs 🤯 explode?
Thanks for the gratuitous slur against some of the best and longest enduring fans in Tennessee's fandom. Still not sure where this animosity comes from.

I prefer night games. I like to sip bourbon while watching the Vols play. I usually don't start drinking until after dark.

Sure, and simply put, it's been scientifically proven that Volunteers can spot pesky cats in the dark better than during the light of day. (add blue font if you need to...)

Don’t like it. Players have admitted it’s hard to stay hyped up all day waiting for the game, coach has admitted it’s hard to keep the player focused all day, we have played better midday this season. We are coming off a bye and were asleep when we played Arkansas off a bye week. Kentucky can be dangerous.
Kentucky never beats us, in seasons where we have any semblance of a pulse.

Since 1985, they've beaten us in :

2011: Tennessee finished 5-7
2017: Tennessee finished 4-8
2020: Tennessee finished 3-7

I'm much more worried about Vanderbilt than Kentucky.

Oops....messed up.
-4 vs. +9 = 13 not 5.

So a 5 A.M. kickoff eastern would be 4 p.m. Japan time?

Don't know about Japan, but I lived in China for 4 years and they were 12-13(Depending on the time of year) hours ahead of us. So 5AM here would be 5-6 pm there. So since China is ahead of us, my brother would call me in China to ask me who is going to win the game.🤣🤣🤣 Just saying...;)

Neyland at night is a TV viewing delight.
Sports bars all across the country like having it on at least one of their screens.
