Ukraine II: The Fight Against Russian Aggression

Thread title seems ridiculous now. Russian aggression?? Lol... more like Russian cooperation and commerce...

"No More Transit Risk": Ukraine & Russia Ink Landmark Gas Transit Deal, Hammering European Gas Prices
“Clearly the parties now hailing the new deal don't see it that way. Instead, all indicators suggest a slow rapprochement between Russia and Ukraine, driven by necessity of supplying energy to Europe, and given Russia naturally wants to keep its significant chunk of the European market online.”

Make sure you include the paragraph that came before that in order to maintain the context.

This collective sigh of relief which came down to the wire, given the previous accord was set to expire on December 31, further comes ironically enough after sanctions-happy Washington has claimed all along to be acting in Ukraine and Europe's best interest as it shouts "Russian interference" in Europe's energy sector (especially given current US pressures over the Nord Stream 2 direct Russia-Germany pipeline).

That is what has been the narrative given to us. But as your quote says, no one involved in this deal sees the US as acting in the best interests of Ukraine and Europe.

Again, another case of the US getting involved in matters of neighboring countries with strong ethnic, religious or historical ties that are halfway around the world from us.

We all see the downside to that history, be it Afghanistan or elsewhere. But when its in Europe and has severe long term consequences for world stability, its kind of hard to ignore what Russia has done in Ukraine, Crimea, etc.

The only people who seem to be touting the line that we ought not be involved in Ukraine are Russia, Russian-manipulated media and the gullible who buy into it, and Trump supporters. (Forgive my redundancy in that list).

Yeah, man, Obama was all over that Crimea thing.

Reuters, BBC, and Bellingcat participated in covert UK Foreign Office-funded programs to "weaken Russia," leaked docs reveal | The Grayzone

The UK FCO projects were carried out covertly, and in partnership with purportedly independent, high-profile online media outfits including Bellingcat, Meduza, and the Pussy Riot-founded Mediazona. Bellingcat’s participation apparently included a UK FCO intervention in North Macedonia’s 2019 elections on behalf of the pro-NATO candidate.

The intelligence contractors that oversaw that operation, the Zinc Network, boasted of establishing “a network of YouTubers in Russia and Central Asia” while “supporting participants [to] make and receive international payments without being registered as external sources of funding.” The firm also touted its ability to “activate a range of content” to support anti-government protests inside Russia.

US Makes Large Military Hardware Delivery To Ukraine's Army After Biden Pledged "Crimea is Ukraine" | ZeroHedge

The delivery follows last year's US DoD announcement of an additional $125 million military assistance package for Ukraine (unveiled in March) which involves equipment, training, and military advisory support, with an additional $150 million waiting for Congressional and Pentagon approval.

WTF???
"The United States continues to stand with Ukraine and its allies and partners today, as it has from the beginning of this conflict. On this somber anniversary, we reaffirm a simple truth: Crimea is Ukraine," the Biden administration said on Feb.26.

Well hello, looks who is back just in time for the 2nd Russian invasion of Ukraine. And don't come at me with that "Kiev is the one escolating the situation" because it's pure bs and the OSINT speaks for itself.
