I have throw in Jamie Johnson's name for under-appreciated. I also agree with Prince.

Seconding Husker Du! Good choice.

#1 Under-Appreciated Artist goes to Jeff Magnum of Neutral Milk Hotel. :clapping:

Genres:
Post-Rock - Talk Talk (late 80s early 90s)
Folk Rock - Pearls Before Swine (late 60s?)
Indie Rock - Circulatory System (mid 00s)
90s Rock - Brainiac (mid to late 90s)
Reggae - Linton Kweli Johnson (70s, 80s)
Soul - Donny Hathaway (late 70s,early 80s)
Rap - Del (present)
Bluegrass - Trampled By Turtles (present)

Talk Talk had some killer songs.

20/20 was a group I thought was great that never really took off in popularity...

Are there any metal heads in here? I think Iced Earth is a very underrated metal band. So is Blind Guardian.

I Used to Love H.E.R. is one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time.

In The Roots epic song "love of my life", common delivers what I consider to be one of the best, if not THE best, rap verses I've ever heard. And he also references H.E.R. throughout the verse.

Common is a good one.
The Black Keys.
RATATAT.
The Fugees.
Atmosphere.
Pete Rock & CL Smooth.
I don't think Neil Young gets the respect he deserves, but that might just be the people I'm around.

Again, what in the world are you talking about? The Fugees aren't underappreciated; they've just been broken up for like 13
years. For a time they were the hottest group in the world. Go check and see how long that album was billboard #1. Report back on how many times platinum the score went. Let us know how many grammy's they won.

Same thing for black keys. They were a headlining act for Bonnaroo this year. And me and 85,000 of my closest friends were very appreciative.

Oh, really? Thanks for letting me know. They should be a household name, and they're not. They didn't even win a Grammy until this year. Hence, under-appreciated.
