I agree WRT to Obama. I was referring to his followers in some of the media.

For him it's completely a narrative to shift blame and whip up the base.

Yep. Add the judiciary to the Obama bogeyman list.

and don't forget this is supposedly his life's work and the reason he is smart enough to lead this country

The other comments he made on this were ridiculous.

1. It's not "unprecedented extraordinary" for the courts to determine a law written by Congress is unconstitutional

2. It was not a strong majority - IIRC there were no R votes and it was the weakest possible majority with many Ds in the House and several in the Senate voting against it.

Once again, the strategy is to blame someone else. One more divisive move by a guy who thrives on it.

Also, Here is a list of the 27 states that are suing over Obamacare which is more than half(majority) that oppose this.....Oh, wait a min, my bad. Actually i miscounted, I just completeley overlooked the 57 +1 other states that Harvard educated Obama mentioned in one of his campaign speeches. I recrunched the numbers and clearly 27 is not the majority out of 58 total states so it appears that Obamas' intellect wins out yet again.

Just to be thorough though I think i will still list the states that are suing the government that are trying to undermine the former Constitutional professor who has been quoted as saying " “The Constitution reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day” & my favorite “The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties”

How can anyone support/vote for this man???????????

LG is so much smarter than the Federal Judge that wants an explaination of the original statement. How can VN be SO lucky to have such a great mind on our board?

Not sure on what basis a district court judge has to ask for elaboration on political statements unrelates to any issue pending before him.

I think it's a bit over the top but the case he is hearing is connected to Obamacare and is being argued by the DoJ/Solicitor's office. Obama is the head of the DoJ and made comments regarding his administration's view of the role and authority of the courts. I see that as sufficient basis to question their understanding of the court's role and authority.

So, you admit that BHO is just campaigning and the statements are not based on the law? Because, a Federal Judge has every right to question and demand an explaination on what BHO stated as being against the law for the SCOTUS to do.

What basis does a POTUS have for:

1) saying if the court rules against him it is judicial activism?

2) it is unprecedented and extraordinary?

3) the court should consider the human element, the economic element in addition to the legal element

4) etc.

He stepped right in it - shouldn't be surprised if others follow suit

I think it's probably over the top . . . but no moreso than a sitting President making comments like that.

it would probably be better for the GOP for the courts to uphold the legislation so they can run on repealing it.

or, when they shoot it down the GOP can say "this is what you got the first term, no telling what you will get in the second". Win, win for GOP.

The message I'd use is that while the recession was at it's worst, the POTUS took a year and a half to ram through an unpopular government program that turned out to be unconstitutional instead of focusing on the economy.

meanwhile, we have not had a budget for three years to even begin to control spending.

The narrative is right there on a platter.

And, last I heard, Dirty Harry says he has "no plans" to bring one this year.

He tried to get the Parliamentarian to state that the BCA prohibited the Senate from taking up a budget measure in 2012. To the Parliamentarian's credit, Reid's request was denied. So the Senate is going to be forced to vote on one or more of the three Republican proposals, and perhaps be forced to unanimously reject their President's budget for the second year in a row. It's almost enough to make you feel sorry for Harry and the gang.

repealing it still leaves the option open for future Dems to try again. The USSC declaring it unconstitutional ends the movement
