Uniform/Helmet/Shoe design thread (merged)

I find it pretty amazing that we can’t do an orange helmet to wear on the road with white jerseys and occasional orange pants. I’ve heard all the excuses of they can’t get the orange right on the helmet… well, baseball had no problem doing it right. Get it done!!
Or at the very least, orange facemasks. That would look sweet against the white helmet.

I know some on VN hate the uniform threads, but I love them…… I do like the idea of the smaller T.

I think the overall size of the T is limited by the safety features of the new helmets, you have a limited field above the bulge over the ear and the back of the head protection and venting.

They don’t match the orange baseball jerseys at all. It’s fine, but it’s still accurate.

I'm thinking the thinner 'T"

Ah. Gotcha. Definitely a matter of taste, but I like the big fat power T of the 80s and 90s!

Yep, 90’s T is my preference as well. It is my understanding that Nike shrank the logo to fit into a square for branding purposes. I was originally pumped about Nike but now I miss Adidas honestly (pre tire-tread jerseys)

Yeah… these look so different, not even close(eye roll)

As I said, they don't match the orange jerseys. These are very clearly the white jerseys. It's not as noticeable on the white and gray jersey sets, just like it wasn't really noticeable when the T on the football helmets didn't come close to matching the jerseys.

When you watch on TV, the orange helmets are a couple of shades darker than the orange jerseys. It's fine with me, but the inability to get them to match is still the reason UT doesn't have an orange football helmet.

I think the idea was to only use orange helmets as an alternate on the road with the white jerseys. I agree that with home jerseys it would be a bit much.

I brought this up before but maybe you can provide some insight. Has it ever been suggested or considered internally to put orange facemasks on the helmets? I always thought that would look so great against the white of the helmets! Especially with the away uniforms.

Arkansas for example. Their helmets red doesn't come close to matching the jerseys right now. I think UGA is similar.

We don't need an orange helmet though. Just wouldn't look as good.
