If you’re gonna an alternate do it right. Don’t just throw black paint over a uniform and call it an alternate. It hurts to say this, but Florida has done the best job of anyone using alternate uniforms the last few years, definitely don’t mean those Gator skins, but the retro alternates and mixing up of helmets have been a good change without being too much Oregon.

Throwbacks and "faux-backs" are a great option everyone can appreciate.

Florida’s retro look was OK, but the gator skins looked like something out of arena ball. And then there was this ADD look.

I'm against alternate colored uniforms because I just think the traditional orange and white uniforms the way they are right now are the best looking uniforms in the universe bar none. Anything else is grossly inferior. I don't want to see them even once. That doesn't mean I wouldn't support the team if they change, I just don't think anything else would come close to matching up. That's just the way I feel, I'm just one in a million.

It would be nice if future Vol team uniforms bore a passing similarity to what I watched as an undergrad (late 60s). The parade of coaching stiffs over the past decade has just about cured me of any interest. The Emmitt Kelly routine will finish it off.

I think you're 100% correct. The only alternates I'd really like to see are throwbacks where they add the sleeve stripes to the orange jerseys somehow, and have the orange pants with white stripes and the vintage thinner power T with gray facemasks.

If they do them, they ought to wear the white pants for a white-black-white look that matches better.

How about we all line up in bright pink with white tutus? We freak them out so bad that by the fourth quarter they are totally bonkers from laughing so hard. First upset in the history of college football accredited to "pretty in pink". Tongue firmly in cheek. Just orange and white and win.

Smokey Grey of some type. Black uniforms are still in the rotation. Will have a dark helmet that goes with each of those. Will still be in the traditional uniforms most of the time, not scheduled to see changes to those.

Sounds good. Thanks. Wouldn’t break my heart to see the orange collar gone on the roads jerseys, but I’ll take it.

I wish we’d go back to the classic number design with big blocky numerals instead of the skinny angular ones

Not likely to happen. Nike is big on consistency, UT is going to use the custom number font on the jerseys as long as they’re with Nike. The only jerseys on campus that don’t have those numbers are the basketball uniforms, and they’re technically the special throwback uniforms in their set.

Orange pants, horizontally orange and white striped prison style jerseys. And the team entering the field to the tune and lyrics of: Bad to the Bone.
I like to think not only outside the box, but outside the solar system as well.
