You must be one of the younger fellows, to assume it was a complaint.


(fyi: IIRC, '64 was the year before Joe Willie Namath appeared wearing white shoes in the AFL)

Those helmets aren't the right orange.

I would think they'd be gone for a bit at least. Let the hate die down. Personally I like them but they're associated with that SC loss.

Which is funny, we're trotting out stormtroopers again and we're 0-2 in them this year......just saying.

Black cleats do not go with this Uniform anymore. The only reason it went with it in 2005 is because we had the black lettering in the names on the uni's. Orange or white cleats would flow way better.

Would have liked to see black outline on the numbers but love the black cleats.

Those things look bush league as heck in 2023. Both were practical choices from a bygone era before HDTV and when it was harder to match our orange across different materials in the uniform. I'll never understand the nostalgia for them.

Yeah I hope the orange helmet comes back again. People who think it should be banned because of the loss last year are simpletons!

They'll have to do the orange helmets during a patsy homecoming game a time or two to where they're not automatically associated with the performance at SC last season.

That'd be the perfect game to wear them against. I'm not big on orange helmets on the road, but they look really awesome paired with the orange jersey.

Love the Stormtroopers, but they should have left those black cleats at the store.

No worries. They'll be stained blue pretty quick anyway from stomping on wildcats on D (they can't block us) and romping around in their end zones on offense.

We wore black cleats through most of the 90's. I do like the black cleats but not feeling the black socks. It really doesn't matter as long as we win. GBO!
