Those things look bush league as heck in 2023. Both were practical choices from a bygone era before HDTV and when it was harder to match our orange across different materials in the uniform. I'll never understand the nostalgia for them.

Exactly. The orange and white with no outline looks clean. That black outline looks like a practice jersey.
