Then you don’t like Rocky Top? Or the checkerboard end zones? When does tradition end and gimmick start? Cause those things you see as traditional haven’t always been around.

If I told you Tennessee could have the same amount of NC as Bammer under Saban but it has to be in traditional uniforms you would say no I'm gonna stick with the Smokey gray? Lmao.

Well actually, with the exception of Alabama, all of those listed have done an alternate uniform, helmet, or combo of the two over the last 3-5 years. Alabama can't really with Nicky being a holier than thou piece of **** saying that good teams don't need to change uniforms. Paraphrasing of course.

Nice stretch. And lighten up. You like/need the Oregon gimmicks and I don't. It's ok to have ones own opinion. If you were wearing an orange Tennessee helmet at the bar I would still offer to buy you a beer.

He's actually kind of right. No team has ever won a game because of the uniform they are wearing

I’m not limiting it to the uniforms. Change doesn’t have to be gimmicky. If it’s something you like then to you it’s tradition but if you don’t like it then it’s a gimmick. I’m the one who needs to lighten up? I’m not the one trying to hold things back as the program grows.

Last time that we on in Athens it was in all white. I say we go stormtroopers. I like the alternates, but I dig all white and haven’t worn em since Pitt. Then again, we haven’t gone orange pants/white jerseys yet this year.

And I am saying that the uniforms are not one factor in winning or losing games. They are too sell more jerseys. I will even give you this the ones we have worn are not as stupid as Oregon but I am fine with orange and white. And going with an orange helmet seems to Illinois/Syracusey for me

I’m simply saying UT should set their own standard and not compare themselves to the likes of Bama, Michigan, Ohio St. & Penn St.’s of the world. I personally love all of UT’s uniforms, because they’ve been my team for over 40 years. My thing is if the players want to do some variation, then great! I don’t get why people have to be so rigid. If the players want black uniforms, give them black uniforms, if the want grey, give them grey. Why should they only have 1 home option and 1 road option(with an occasional orange on orange on extremely special occasions every 3 - 5 years) as some on here seem to desire? They wear each alternate 1 game a season, wear traditional uni’s against rival opponents & the kids vote on what to wear so I don’t understand the unwillingness of some to accept them.

I agree with you 100%. But, in this day and age cool uniforms appeal to recruits. We can thank Oregon for that. I mean the two games that we wore alternates this year we manhandled good teams. It’s a generational thing. I’m just happy to win.

I am not saying that I think they look bad. I just prefer orange and white. Doesn't mean I like them or I would purchase one

Believe me. I prefer the orange and white all day everyday. I wanna see that when I turn on the game every time. All I’m saying is that new things aren’t necessarily gimmicky just because I may not like them. Traditions always have to start somewhere.

I’ve enjoyed the alternate uniforms and do hope to see an orange helmet in my lifetime, but it’s big boy football time now.

Smokey greys....I've tried to like 'em, I've wanted to, but in the end they are just blah for me. Helmet's aren't bad, don't like the jerseys....am a fan of double stripes on the pants, so current version is a non-starter. But the all black does work, that whole ensemble worked, it looked solid last Saturday. Looking forward to an orange helmet...I think that's a color past due for that piece of kit.

But, now I'm done. All white, all black, all orange in Helmut, tops and pants as individual parts. Not a fan of light blue....I revere Pat, but no, keep it off the field. You can ditch that. $0.02.

First, if you were to google "Ohio State Alternate Uniforms" I think you would be surprised. They have worn them alot, and recently, too. They have more variety than what we've shown.

Second, I am PROUD OF OUR TRADITION! Our tradition is winning - not the color of our laundry. Understand that the Power-T hasn't always been on our helmets either - winning is our tradition!

DeerPark said the plan is to go “traditional” against traditional rivals, which is presumed to mean Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Traditional on the road is either all white or white over orange. We haven’t worn orange pants on the road this year, so maybe this is the game. Regardless, I don’t think an orange helmet qualifies as traditional.
