Ok. What f they overbooked by 10 people? What then? Let people fly standing in the aisle?
They have the right to remove the guy. He can sue them for breach of contract or whatever for overbooking and costing him time/money.
Personally I hope he gets zilch.
I think it's my disdain for social media mobs, fake outrage and false narratives.
Not to excuse the way it was handled, but based on both the first part where he is removed, then the part where he runs back on and says odd things, I have to wonder whether this guy had some sort of mental disability that contributed to the situation, and perhaps was not recognized by the security folks that dragged him off.
I mean, and again not to justify it, what right thinking person acts like that when threatened with force? Just to give up a seat? He's supposed to be a doctor, but I have to wonder if that is true. There does seem something off about the guy, throughout.
What's fake about doing something that causes your stock take a $250 million hit?
I get what you're saying, but in this case, somebody needed to step back and think a little; especially once they realized the guy wasn't handling things well.
Marshawn Lynch has never been a huge fans of microphones or cameras in his face, but what he did Monday to fans at Los Angeles International Airport was downright shocking.
According to TMZ, Lynch "smacked a cell phone out of a fan's hand and spit in his direction to make his point," Monday afternoon after being approached by two men upon arriving at LAX.
Yeah I guess.
They also are as annoying as it gets and usually whining about something.
Most embarrassing faction of our fanbase is a social media mob known as Vol twitter. I guess you can say they embarrass us without using force.
There was some debate earlier about why the employees were given priority and not considered "standby". I took it that it was a flight crew that was needed to pilot something out of Louisville later in the day. So from the airlines perspective they're looking at scewing over a handful of passengers versus delaying/cancelling a whole flight later in the day. Obviously not cool to have your trip potentially ruined as a passenger.
Also it was a United Express flight, operated by Republic Airlines. For those voting with their wallets, Republic also operates under Delta Connection and American Eagle.
Why even have a twitter acct if you have a disdain for social media mobs?
The outrage is real... and justified.
What has been the false narrative?
Outrage over removing a passenger from a flight who refused to leave when asked? Really? That outraged you?
False narrative: He was just a doctor trying to get home to his patients. As if he was sitting there and then unexpectedly gets yanked and beaten.
That's really amazing. I know that information can be presented under the guise of "we are just reporting facts" but it is totally irrelevant to what happened.
What exactly is the purpose of publishing that? What is it implying? That what happened to him is OK because he's a shady doctor?
