Upcoming season

Jones's time at the 3 will be limited, of this I'm sure.....There are too many ball handlers and shooters that can make the 3 spot a place of attack, instead of the place of confusion it became....

We all like Jones but she does lose the ball quite regularly....At the 4, sharing time with Graves, she may become a nightmare for the less athletic 4's of the other team's....I sure hope so, because I like Jones a lot.

That seems like a good idea on the face of it trying Jones at the 4. She can elevate and she should receive the ball closer to the basket so she has less of a chance of losing it. Her shallow shot would probably also work better off the back board and not clanking off the front or back of the rim.

play Moore more! She is taller than Graves, faster than Russell, and can finish a layup.

I'm tired of watching Graves throw shots into the bottom of the rim.......

She also has the girth of a radio antenna.

She also isn't very good. It is no mystery why she doesn't play more. When we signed her I said we would be lucky if she could contribute by her junior year. That looks like it will be the best case now.

Let's hope she make huge progress over the summer. We could use the help.

How can you say she's no good? She avg less than 5 minutes per game. So you base your assessment on the four minutes of mop up time. Moore has potential. She is an excellent free throw shooter and shoots a high field goal %. We may never see how good she can be until Warlick decides to give her a shot. Maybe it happens this season with Russell's injury.

Warlick is clueless

Warlick isn't clueless. She does recognize talent. She hasn't learned how to win at an elite level yet but she deserves some time. With all the pressure on Holly to win she'd have her out there if she thought she'd help the team win. Holly isn't stupid. If you watch Moore in a game she is very soft and gets pushed around a lot. I think she prefers being that way and she is very nice to look at but it is just going to be difficult for her to get substantial minutes with that girly-girl mentality. Or at least that's how she seems to me. We'd lose a lot of games with Moore getting substantial minutes with what I've seen so far.

With Russell sidelined at least until October, I do not see how she will be able to become a better player. This off season is crucial for her development.

There is no way you replace Graves with Jones or Moore. Jones is athletic, and that is about you can say about her. Remember, Graves played through a few injuries last season.

In order not to make the same mistakes as last season Tenn players need to be drilled and drilled and drilled and drilled and drilled individually on their mistakes and as a team to correct reoccurring mistakes. Good passing and looking for the open man, and good passing looking for cutters will eliminate unforced errors. To many times last season Tenn had over 18 turnovers against mediocre teams. That has to change and to coaches have to teach the players to correct their mistakes. You do it until you get it right then you continue to do it so you dont get it wrong.

Welcome to the board Tony...And you are correct with our team having so many turnovers.....It was an epidemic that was not checked, or so it appears, from the highest level of authority....Perhaps the uptempo game was a contributor, but still no excuses....Six and one half dozen others I suppose...

Your team has been very study in that part....Your coach has done an excellent job in stressing ball security , and he gets the best out of his talent...I bet that surprises you that a LV fan can say nice things about Geno A...

We're hoping this season things will be more positive here in may areas of the game, if not, the world will still be round.

Anyway, welcome here to this board, and hope all your players have a healthy season.

Jones shoots the ball--is not afraid to shoot it, and can make shots. That's something Graves cannot do. I'm not suggesting that Jones is a good offensive player, but she has the potential to contribute more than Graves, I think. They both have issues...

Surgery on her knee in April?? Anyone know about that?

i didn't know about it,that along with the concussion is probably why she didn't play anymore, could have been one of those injures that doesn't stop you from playing but is aggravating

you would have thought they would have done it sooner since she missed so much time

You say "isn't afraid to shoot it" like that's a good thing in this case. She isn't a good scorer and takes a lot of ill-advised shots. Guess who had the lowest FG% on the team last year at 35.8%?

If you do one, you have to do all. Jordan shot 38%. Amass shot 38% and Burdick shot 39%. Guess who had the highest 3-point % of the team at 53% Jones. She was fourth in steals behind Draya, Meg, and Izzy. I think your confusing her with another player cause I didn't see her take any ill-advised shots. Many of times she was hesitant to take shots when she was open.
