Maybe so. But he struck out 40% of his at bats. Not good for a three hole hitter. Moore struck out 32% of the time. Still not good, but he's a right hand bat following the two lefties and in front of lefty Dickey. I oculd see Backus or Denton or Alexander (or Skenes) there also.

What about C Scott? Going off of last year’s playing time he will beat out someone

I could see him in CF as a starter if he hits better than he did last year (200 avg). He was 8 of ten SB, so that part is good for a lead-off man. Booker didn't hit much better, but he was injured and had very limited AB's.

Well, we lost Alexander and Crawford. That sucks. So only 2 portal additions now. Hey more playing time for Skenes now if we want to try and get back in that recruitment again.

Alexander signed by Royals. Dickey to catcher. He lists himself as a catcher/ outfielder.

Because it comes after the portal deadline, and comes so close to the start of the fall semester. Not a lot of time or opportunity for roster management if you get hit hard and/or unexpected in the draft.

Well, the draft date is determined by MLB. They used to hold it earlier on while the NCAA baseball season was still happening, which brought separate problems. I believe they moved it back the last few years to make it coincide with the all-star game and increase viewership. Based on the calendar of the NCAA baseball season, there may not be an ideal time for the draft.

It’s better than being drafted in rounds later than 15-ish because you can negotiate with multiple teams and find the best fit. Probably no difference money wise.
