I don't believe the ratings are anything other than an indicator of potential success with perhaps the exception of Alabama who is a level ahead at this time for the 2015 class. Being 5th in the SEC and 7th in the nation is outstanding!
For me, the subjective rankings mean nothing. All the top 10-15 schools have talented players and their success will depend upon how hard they are willing to work and how effective the coaching staff is to coaching up talented individuals into a winning team.
I like what I am seeing relative to the Vol coaching staff's ability to recruit talented players and motivate them to be play in the SEC. As we talked about yesterday, possibly CBJ's greatest achievement is motivating the athletes to be scholar athletes. I suspect that is the most difficult task a coach has but one that is not given as much attention as the rest of the factors until that APR stands in the way of a bowl game.
Next for the Vols is a bowl game and winning most SEC games. I think recruiting is in good hands. Aside from the temporary elation that went along with CLK's recruiting class before it imploded, I haven't felt that way in a long, long time.
